I've come to the conclusion there are two objectives with this version. Firstly to guess all four words, and secondly to get the lowest number of guesses. I've not yet got all the answers in 5 guesses yet, but there must be maybe a hundred possible puzzles where that's a reasonable expectation.

Then there's all the times when your first word leaves so many clues that you can take a fair shot at one of the second words. I think that gets close to 100 layouts for any particular start word with a good chance of getting everything in 5 guesses.
