When mandela walked out of prison he could have started a bloodbath in south africa he chose not to. The reason he is so feted is he called for peace and reconciliation and to noy dwell on the past. The only way to make peace is to sit down with your enemy and talk out your differences or conquer or wipe them out entirely that hasn't changed since the beginning of time. That hasn't changed since the beginning if time. The reality is Griffin is a nonentity no one will remember, a pathetic individual with the intellectual capacity of a budgie clinging to a world view that has had it's day.

Canute? Had to look that up. Means "knot" or Norwegian boy's name. Any other meanings I'm not aware of? I love to learn new stuff.

You know even less about Scottish politics than you do about British politics don't you. Most scots would have probably voted for more devolution than full independence and that would also have been one of the options if left to the SNP. It's Cameron that has pushed for a simple yes or no vote and quite frankly is shitting himself that the scots vote yes especially n ow they have found more oil off the western isles.
It's ironic he wants to have a referendum on the european union with unilateral ending of our membership while at the same time arguing we can't separate from England without the consent of the other members - who you seem to forget are the welsh and irish. Mind you I doubt the average tory voter can appreciate the subtleties. There is a world of difference between the right wing nationalism of the BNP and the SNP.
Neither Griffin or Farage are capable of having an informed discussion on their policies and their potential impact farage in particular is a mental midget living in a cloud cuckoo land where the UK is still a world power with a strong enough economy to stand on it's own witjouit being opart of one of the major trading blocs. We will leave the eu and still have to follow all their rules with no say in the matter.
