I have loads of space, all files are kept on a separate hard drive so the desktop has then operating system and very little else.

What you mean no spotty little oick saying rtfm? That's one of the things that used to put me off. I'll try the forums as well, I've also printed put some instructions on what to do so I'll try it at the weekend. I'm working long hours just now and starting at you've got to be kidding o'clock in the mornings so basically I can't be arsed just at the moment.

Had to look up rtfm, never been told that.

The beauty of popular Linux is that they are dumbed down for the likes of you and me, they hold your hand all the way through installation.

I found it very quick and easy the first time I ventured into duel booting installation
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

I'd still defrag to make sure the space is contiguous.
