Loaf of Bread Machine Bread

She made 8 big muffin tin size pies - cherry and apple last night when she made the broth we used for gravy and stuffing today.

It was wonderful. She did all the chopping(supervised) - and I did all the cleaning as we went along..:D

We invited her dad down to eat with us since his folks are out of town until Saturday and he's taking care of the farm alone until they get back -so couldn't really travel to his sisters.

They played guitar hero after while I dosed in my chair..:wah:

Ahhhhh Floppy, That is so sweet. Your daughter must have loved cooking for her Dad and you. She must have been so proud of herself.

I love to cook with kidlets. They're so amazed at themselves when they realize that they can cook:D

Reading this thread gives a feeling of what it means to you and I'd like to wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving - it sounds wonderful.

Thank you Bryn. Thanksgiving is more important to me than Christmas. During Christmas you're always stressed out running around spending tons of money on presents. Thanksgiving is a restful time when you see all of your loved ones.

The night before Thanksgiving, it seems everyone comes home and you know that you'll meet up with them sometime during the night at a local restaurant or pub.

I had a fabulous time with my family at Rod's. Everyone was in good humore and we all had so much catching up to do.

It's funny though....This is the 1st time that we all didn't eat turkey. I had roasted chicken and others had lobster and salmon.....:wah: Only one person had turkey. Guess we don't like turkey anymore.

Hope everyone had a nice evening.

I even stopped into my fav store "Trader Joes" before I came home. Didn't realize that TJ is owned by Aldi. We have one not too far away so I think that I'll check it out next week. It has a lot of products from TJ.:-6

(((((((((((( Kathy ))))))))))))))

Remember Nora, of the Rogues, from Atlanta, GA. She sent me for my birthday two shopping bags from Trader Joes. They are fantastic!! I'd never heard of that before. Is it a new store??? Maybe I just never noticed. (Do know Aldi's, of course. That's everywhere, originally German I think).

Awesome you had a good Thanksgiving. I refuse utterly to obsess about Christmas. I love it. Always feel very relaxed then. Chris and I went to see an art exhibition in town on Friday (Rupert Bunny) and walked to China Town afterwards via looking at big Department Store Christmas windows. It felt good.

Hello Pam:-4

Yes, of course I remember Nora....How is she:-6Great that she's in touch with you...tell her I say hi please:D

Trader Joes is a specialty store that started in California and now has set up stores all over the States. Vin & Pam live near a beautiful town called Westfield, and that's where TJ's is located. So, before I came home I had some fancy coffee and did some window shopping in Westfield, and then went to TJ.

I adore this store. It's full of novelty foods...everything's fresh and just different from the usual fare. They also have lovely, delicious wines and ports for $3 each. So, I got a case of wine, fresh salads and fancy breads, French soaps, and extra virgin olive oils plus ginger snap cookies...my favorite. Everything is so cheap.

I can't believe that Nora sent you 2 bags for Trader Joes....that must be fate. Hope you liked the products. I just found out that it was bought by Aldi's and learned that we have a new Aldi which is just passed the parkway. So I'll check it out next week:D

Glad you and Chris had a nice time at the art exhibit and hope you have a good time at the beach....Love to all in Oz....I'll be in touch next week:-4

Nora's well and getting ready for the big Christmas Choir concert she sings in every year. We stay in touch on FB.

Rupert Bunny is turn of the century an Aussie in Paris type artist. Belle epoque, I suppose. Here's my favourite - his Pastorale.

BUNNY, Rupert | Pastoral

There's another exhibition I just can't wait to see - the Musee D'Orsee in Paris has lent a whole lot of fantastic paintings to the National Gallery in Canberra - when we go there in gosh 2 weeks (to be with D for his last week's school then bring him back here), I'll get to that!!!

OOOPS Sorry, now it's me taking your ThanksGiving thread off track... Um.. I give thanks for this conversation with you, Girlfriend. How's that for redeeming meself??

The Opéra Garnier is fantastic, Kathy - built I think by Napolean III in the grandiose Italianate style, all marble staircases, gold mirrors and chandeliers sort of thing. And probably Phantoms still underneath. I've never been to a performance there. I don't know how to post a slide show, maybe one can link to it though. Not sure.
