I couldn't begin to name ALL the names and would hate to leave anyone out but there are a lot of past and present members of FG that have been here for not only me but for my family in hard times.

There are several of ya that I couldn't imagine my life without you in it. You've helped me grow, given me advice and support, put me in my place when needed, etc. I feel like this is just another realm of my disfunctional family and I love you guys. Even the ones I don't see eye to eye with, I hold respect for you as even you lot teach me something from time to time.

To all the noobs I hope to get to know you better and hope ya stick around to see the side of some that I've had a pleasure to see and be blessed to call them friend too.

I've decided that I don't want to be nice to anyone.

Nice is too bland a word, I think I'll be kind to some, irritating to many, bewildering to the odd one or two, challenging to Jimbo, friendly to the newbies (until I get to know them),possibly nasty to those that deserve it and definitely mickey-taking to all!

Me too but some do stand out above the others, i usually don't agree with or don't like or ignore these type of threads but today i learned a valuable lesson in letting people know how you feel. There are others who i associate with the garden but for one reason or another are no longer here and that is the only reason their name is missing. - Randall especially, get in touch ole guy, i miss you and never did get that cup o tea :-4

Spot, Bryn, Nomad, Accounts, Betty, Minks, Val - There for me anytime, i know and feel this.

GMC, Bill Sykes, Yzgi, Floppy - how i love reading your posts, you often make my day.

Of course there are many others who i like but i do not feel i 'know them' like i do the one's i have mentioned.

Some of the new members, (anything less than 3 years is new to me) i feel i will come to have an affection for as we get to know each other better.

I have always enjoyed visiting the garden to watch the seedlings bloom and the weeded area's ploughed to make space for new growth, its as a garden should be. :-6

Give Jimbo a bit of stick though, that will be fine.:-6 Oh, and don't be too nice to YZGI will you, and give oscar a bit of hassle, that would be nice. Pick on spot and Nomad for a bit, i would like that. Give Odie a bit of trouble along with Immy. In fact start a war, i will read all about it next Saturday evening on my return.:sneaky::-6

People come and go, yes I miss Randall too bless him, hope he's ok.

I have friends in real life that I can't put together, they would fight like cat and dog, it's a bit like that here too!

I think everyone here has their own niceness about them, some bits are hidden, some are out on display, we're all different but we're all lovable here in our own way.

So many people find him...well, unspeakable.

But the core of this forum is the English speaking democracies. The English speaking is the medium that ****s us up but at least allows us to communicate in a (mostly) first language, and if it isn't a first language then it is a fluent second.

The democracy bit is the important one, though. It is what really unites us at bottom. The basic values of freedom of the individual and of the press; the responsibility of our own governance; the inviolability and impartiality of the Law - these are the things that unite us and allow us to communicate across the planet, across our cultures and across our religions or lack of them.

And one of the most committed of the guardians of that democracy and its values is spot.
