I dont eat white veal, pate de fois gras or lobster, for the same reason dont like the way its produced. I do or have eaten just about most meats though incl rabbit, duck, kangaroo, ostrich, venison and horse.
I didn't know about the two different types of veal meat.
I can't be a hypocrite because I'm a carnivore, but I do hate the idea that an animal is slaughtered very young and has had very little life whatsoever.
The way that fois gras is produced is cruelty in the extreme....using animals that have been humanely killed for food is one thing, but making a living creature suffer for an extended period before death, purely for an exotic culinary experience, is another.

I totally agree. I can not eat young lamb either. I just believe that everything deserves a life before dying. Animal conditions in this country have come a long way but abroad, some countrie's are still in the dark ages. I have never eaten veal just out of principle any more than i'd eat lamb.

Totally, totally agree and makes me wonder who discovered this "dish" and what a kind person that must have been and why were they doing such nasty things to an innocent creature in the first place.....again pure greed of man and maybe a little something else shown the way this dish was "found" also.

We really shouldn't eat veal because of the way it's produced.
Very cruel.
I rather like veal myself in a saute with garlic white sauce.

Yuck, fois gras...they are trying to ban the sale of it in Philly. After I read the article about how they produce it my stomach was turning.

While I find shrimp, clams and anything that don't look like a fish disgusting, I do love frog legs. Where I live, lots of guys use a frog gig to get them. I prefered a long cane pole. Using a boat, I would quietly and slowly move along a bank. When I spotted a frog, without any sudden movements, stop and edge as close as needed to reach with the pole.
At the end of the pole I had a length of fine monofilament line with a small feathered panfish lure tied to the end. Dangle that in front of 'em and they go for it near every time. This way, the frogs were alive and fresh when I got 'em home, not dead and smelly. And, I could always turn a few loose in a nearby pond if I chose to. They are quite tasty batter fried in a iron skillet.

Yes,it would definitely take a sadistic brain to think of doing such a thing.
The same way that lobsters are thrown into boiling water when they're still alive.
Studies have shown in regards to meat,if the animal isn't stressed before death, then the flesh is more tender.
