I notice that you dont acknowledge that smokers are a burden to society in general. That you dont call in sick to work is great for your employer but it means nothing to the rest of us that are paying for smoking related illnesses.

So.

According to your statistics - smokering related illness take up 5.6% of the TOTAL National Medicaid expenditures. How in the world is that a majority!?! Or a burden to society!?!

I pay my taxes and so do all of the smokers I know. Not only do we pay the same taxes that you do - we pay about $3 a pack more then you do every time we buy a pack of cigarettes (this number changes according to the percentage taxed by each state).

You seem to have a real problem paying for smoking related illness but don't seem to mind that your tax dollars go toward paying for every illness an illegal alien gets (or their "citizen" children) or people like that crazy woman in CA. and her 8 freakin' kids.

If I was using your tax dollars to pay for MY illnesses - you can bet your butt that I would "take some ownership". But until people step up and "take ownership" for the other 94.4% of that medicaid money - why the hell should I be the only one paying for it?
