When are you actually leaving, Minks????

Yes, there are lots of tall Italian men!! If however you meet one and decide he's not really for you after all - here's a few things you could say...

Brutto buzzone, figlio d'una troia, non mi toccare il culo!

Please remove your hands from my rear end, you rather round person of doubtful heritage.

Fottete, mafioso spuderato!

Please leave now, you shady fellow.

But if you like him;;;;

Ti amo. Ti voglio. Ho bisogno di te. Sono pazza per te. Sei l'unico. Andiamo a letto. Senza di te non ce sole nel cielo. Se mi lasci t'amazzo! Il tuo e il piu grande che ho mai visto.

I love you. I want you. I need you. I'm mad for you. You are the only one. Let's do it. Ain't no sunshine when you're gone. I'll kill you if you leave me! Yours is the biggest one I've ever seen.

sweet hehehe that would be awesome. Funny I was just going to post about my stop over....

I need advice people, anyone been to Amsterdam? Before I book my flight I need to know if I should take the 7 hour stop over in Amsterdam and spend a couple hours seeing something there or take the 3 hour stop over and just hang out and pray they don't loose my luggage? I have to stop in Amsterdam both ways, coming home I am more likely to be exhausted but that would be irrelavant, I am kind of leaning towards doing a little exploring for a couple hours just to say I was there? It is going to cost me the same no matter what I do (ok I mean flight not shopping ahahaha)

Get a bicycle and ride round. Take a boat along a canal. Visit a diamond factory. Check out real genever gin in a pub, pop into the Rijksmuseum and see a Rembrandt, try the special naughty cakes in one of those flower power coffeehouses...

Yes,I've been years ago as part of an European adventure.

It's really well worth a look around, and I found the Dutch folk to be very nice and helpful.

Just watch what you order at some of the coffee shops:) though I think there has been a major 'clean-up' in the past few years.

Minks - I've spent the last couple of Saturday's walking the Italian areas of Sydney. The bulk of Italian migration here was in the fifties, and of course a lot has happened since that time. Families clustered at first, then their kids became fair dinkum aussies and moved on into the general population. Still, there are areas here where Italian is still widely spoken in the streets, where the businesses are Italian, and the cafes etc. On Sunday afternoons the older people still do their walkabout (passeggiata), all done up in their best clothes, arm in arm.

I was in Haberfield on a public holiday recently and everyone was in one barn like restaurant - grandma, grandpa, the parents, the kids, babies... the food was fantastic, and I felt like I'd spent the afternoon in Italy.

Wish I could go there for real with you in September.

WOW - I'm quite touched. Grin. Maybe next year I'll manage to get across the big pond. I think, for the moment, I'm gated. But my daughter's back Down Under, and my son will be a whole lot closer in Honkers, come July, so it's not so bad.

there could be a side bar to this.....

as I am watching prices and stop overs and taxes and all that "shivel".... I may not be stopping over in Amsterdam, I may be stopping in London instead. Perhaps anyone from FG looking for something to do on said Saturday in London, Jr Minks and I would gladly grab a pint with anyone. I shall keep you guys informed.

It does tend to get a bit pricey, doesn't it? We may have to rethink seeing the Giant's footsteps in Iceland or Norway. :rolleyes:We are going to be in London and I'm going to see Phantom at Her Majesty's Theater. This is especially exciting since I watched a documentary about its creation. When are you going to be in London, Minks? We'll be there 7/30 & 31 and then back again 8/12 & 8/16 & 17. I'd love to have a pint with ya.

Hey Mel,

I went to Italy eons ago. My Dad, Mom and 4 aunts and uncles planned a trip to Ireland, England, Paris, Germany and Italy.

Poor Dad broke his toes ,and he couldn't go. Soooo, being the good Dad that he was, he handed me his ticket and spending money for the whole trip.:-6 Am I a lucky girl or what.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved Italy. It is a beautiful country with wonderful people. We spent time in Rome, Venice and San Marino. I think it was 8 days in total. There's so much to do in Rome that you need a good map and comfy shoes and just walk, get lost and find lots of treasures...

I especially loved Venice....what a gorgeous city. Everynight in St. Mark's Square an orchestra would play waltzes and everyone would just get up and dance in the moonlight:-6

Have a wonderful time...;)
