Hi everyone,
My name is Cazza and I am a scouser.
I live on Merseyside and I support Everton, although my husband and three children support Liverpool.
I work as a secretary in a school and I like going to the pub and eating out.
I am a big fan of Gordon Brown and yes Oscar he is trying to put the 'Great' back in Great Britain, although he has had a few setbacks, like this world credit crunch which some people blame him for!
I like a chat and a good laugh, as well as a heated debate!

Granted, you won the recent by-election in Glenrothes, but I wouldn't call it landmark, you simply retained a seat you already held - but with a reduced majority of over half...... not good.
Now here is a list of previously held Labour seats lost in bye elections in 2008:
*Glasgow East- Labour lost to: Scottish National Party
*Crewe and Nantwich - Labour lost to: Conservative Party
* Dunfermline and West Fife - Labour lost to: Liberal Democrats
So all in all Oscar, your great Gordon Brown does not look that great, statistically! :wah:
Thanks for the welcome by the way, that goes for everyone else as well, I was very impressed so I will try to be kind to you all. :sneaky:
Hi Steve,
Gordon Brown, did not assume that he was Primeminster, he was not challenged because no one stood against him.

It would have been equally legal if the Queen had invited me to form an administration. The difference between me and Gordon is that I would have failed where he succeeded.

Oscar, he wasn't challenged because no one put up against him, so there was no vote.
So he was Prime Minister, obviously all the Labour Party thought he was the best person for the job and he is. Very experienced and well able to see us through the credit crunch crisis.

I thought I had Oscar and I really have no time to read threads on the budget.
I love him and I can assure you that I know everything I need to know about Gordon and no one will change my mind.
The day that Tony Blair went, was the day I rejoiced.

I don't think you can call it hijacking necessarily, it's more an exploration. Where do you stand on the folk-rock revival for example? Until we know you're the right sort on the essential questions you have to stay provisional.

(as a clue, "to which of the folk-rock revivals do you refer?" is an acceptable response, "what folk-rock revival?" is a definite no-no).

I like rock, I like folk Music, in fact I like a variety of music. I was what they called a new romantic, in the eighties I suppose. My favorite singer of all time has to be David Bowie, but as a young teenager I remember bands like Led Zeppelin, Marc Boland and so on. When I was fifteen and still at school, I used to travel miles to folk music sessions. All in all, I suppose I sit on the fence when it comes to folk rock revivals...dare I say..whatever that is? :wah:

It's the daily mail readers. They have an attention span of about two minutes and because they are always reading drivel that's all they can come out with. They tend to ramble on to themselves like demented budgies tweeting away in the corner.
I'm looking to these guys to save us all.
Official Monster Raving Loony Party - Homepage
Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.
And the most British thing of all? Suspicion of all things foreign!
Only in Britain can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.
Only in Britain do supermarkets make sick people walk all the way to the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.
Only in Britain do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries and a DIET coke.
Only in Britain do banks leave both doors open and chain the pens to the counters.
Only in Britain do we leave cars worth thousands of pounds on the drive and lock our junk and cheap lawn mower in the garage.
Only in Britain do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place.
Only in Britain are there disabled parking places in front of a skating rink.
Yes let's get some credibility back into british politics you know it makes sense.

We have this major problem that you're so young you only know recent acts.
Umm.
1. Ralph McTell or Roy Bailey? (hint: the answer cannot in any circumstances be Ralph McTell).
2. Gaudete? (hint: possible answers are "in Domino semper" or "all around my hat")
3. Which King Henry? Why?
4. You are invited out by Alison Gross. Plan your evening. What essential items would you take with you?
5. Andy Stewart and Kenneth McKellar are performing at your local venue. What is sufficient excuse for not attending, short of killing a family member?
6. In which venue is amplification acceptable for an all-acoustic set? a) The Nag's Head Finchley, audience capacity 10 b) Leicester Cathedral, audience capacity 800 c) The Albert Hall, audience capacity 5,000 (hint: this is a trick question)
7. "She's led him in through ae dark door, And sae has she thro' nine; She's laid him on a dressing-table, And stickit him like a swine". Illustrate.
8. "I see a dark sail on the horizon, set under a black cloud that hides the sun". What are my options? Have I left them too late?
9. Have you seen the old man in the closed-down market, kicking up the paper with his worn out shoes? (do NOT hum while answering)
10. Explain the influences of Wizz Jones on Labour Party politics.

Steve, I was just thinking that all I can see on your introduction is
GORDON BROWN
Very ironic when you are not a supporter of his.
All as I can say is, poor you, you just may have to get used to it.

You're being ageist Spot.
2. Gaudete? (hint: possible answers are "in Domino semper" or "all around my hat")
Steeleye Span/Pentangle/June Tabor/Maddie Prior
3. Which King Henry? Why?
Who the hell cares?
4. You are invited out by Alison Gross. Plan your evening. What essential items would you take with you?
Eye of newt, bats blood, loads of garlic and a bloody great knife.
5. Andy Stewart and Kenneth McKellar are performing at your local venue. What is sufficient excuse for not attending, short of killing a family member?
They're Brigadoon-ish stereo types. You would probably answer "they're Scottish", but I personally would sacrafice many family members to escape attending.
6. In which venue is amplification acceptable for an all-acoustic set? a) The Nag's Head Finchley, audience capacity 10 b) Leicester Cathedral, audience capacity 800 c) The Albert Hall, audience capacity 5,000 (hint: this is a trick question)
All of them
7. "She's led him in through ae dark door, And sae has she thro' nine; She's laid him on a dressing-table, And stickit him like a swine". Illustrate.
Can't. This is (presumably) a child-friendly forum - damnit.
8. "I see a dark sail on the horizon, set under a black cloud that hides the sun". What are my options? Have I left them too late?
You have none, it is much too late.........
9. Have you seen the old man in the closed-down market, kicking up the paper with his worn out shoes? (do NOT hum while answering)
London actually has streets?
10. Explain the influences of Wizz Jones on Labour Party politics.
The Labour Party has no politics.
