"Control" over the House and Senate returned to Republican favor in 2002 in the events preceding the war in Iraq...

The war in Iraq is my primary concern and surely has had a huge effect on other issues...

And the McCain campaign is blatantly pressing the "Obama/terrorist" card late in the game because they're finding out they don't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning this terms election other than VIA McCain rigged election 2008...

I hate to be the one to bring this up but we had a report in one of our papers a few days ago.

It basically said that if Obama was not black, he'd win by a landslide.

It suggested and i do agree a little, that support for Obama, especially in the South, may just be talk.

He said, it's possible that folk are saying Obama not to look racist but in the privacy of their own homes, they may secretly vote White.

Sorry, but papers are saying that, don't shoot the messenger.

What do you think?

I think the vast majority of us are honestly and truly beyond allowing color-coding to influence such important decisions to such a great degree. I also think that Obama might win in the UK by a landslide and that the UK papers are nonplussed as to why he's not doing so here, since he personifies all that the UK thinks is best, and are grasping at any straw to explain such apparent lunacy.

He reminds me of the smarmy Blair. However, ever since the Election paced up, the British press have reported extremely in McCain's favour. That has thrown me a little because the same papers are so anti-Bush.

Even when the polls put Obama ahead, our press were saying, don't be fooled.

I just don't get this belief people have that Bush somehow acted alone. All the democrats believed the same thing and supported going to war.

Anyway, in a few weeks he'll be back home here in Texas where he belongs and ya'll will have to find someone else to pick on. :rolleyes: :p :wah:

I keep hearing about Bush sitting in that school...If he would have up and left in the middle of a child's classroom, who you know were extremely emphatic that the President of the United States was visiting them, would have shown the utmost weakness I could ever imagine the President of the United States of America capable of showing which would ultimately have led to more attacks on the United States of America.

You people place way too much credit on the job of President of the United States of America. We have defense systems designed for such instances and seeing as how a few Boeing commercial airplanes does not exactly prompt a direct nuclear strike(No jokes please :wah:) I don't see why anyone feels what George Bush did in response to September 11 2001 was weak and indecisive. I would have sat with those kids until my promised time was over knowing the policies I'd ensured were set in place to not only defend such attacks but to do so with the utmost success.

I think that the numbers of new voters are going to have to be more prolific over that of racists in order to see the effect...

I don't know very many people happy with our state of economy and knowing that Bush's Republican philosophy is largely to blame I don't know very many "Republicans" willing to vote for McCain and if McCain wins I would see no illusions as to why it's appropriate to assume the election, hypothetically speaking, would have been rigged.

The difference being that my logic not slenderizing toward McCain rather Bush's administration has gone below appraisal to the point that Obama looks a genius.

I agree that the war has had an effect on other issues, but I'd rather feel safe in my country and our intelligence has stopped many more attempts on the US.

I still have yet to see a Obama/terrorist card come out of McCain's camp, I'd like to see it if you have a link. I believe if McCain wins, and it's seeming more and more like he won't, it will because people went out and voted by what their gut tells them...it won't be rigged.

Continuing to bully countries and moving in and raiding them like a sack of wild dogs will do nothing but increase tensions with everyone not just terrorists...

To me, gut instinct means what you feel about someone or something. When I first meet someone, I know if I can trust them or not within 5 minutes, and am right about 95% of the time. Take for example, we still have a presence in Korea, Vietnam, Germany etc. This has been the ideologies of many presidents from both parties.
