How about a few classics since somebody mentioned, "A Night to Remember"

Lifeboat - Alfred Hitchcock.

"The Haunting of Hell House"

High Noon

True Grit

Has anybody seen a very strange movie called: "Miracle Mile" where a guy answers a phone booth and the caller tells him that WWIII is about to happen?

How about the Bakshi animated movie: "Wizards"?

Caught two repeats on the weekend, " Field of Dreams" and "Cassablanca" very different but two of my all time favourites.

Best moment in FOD, when kevin Costner and his wife are arguing because he has ploughed his crop to make a baseball field, his daughter keeps trying to interrupt and filnally says "daddy there is a man on your lawn", and whilst the muffled drum beats on the soundtrack Kostner makes his way to the window and there on the Diamond is the ghost of the Great Shoeless Joe Jackson.

Best in Cassablanca, When Rick sees her in the cafe, or is it when they have the parting "Hill of Beans" speech, who knows, who cares I just love the film.

Warren Zevon.. singer/songwriter.. cancer stole him and he passed on to the other side in 2003. It makes sense that his music would be a favorite of Carl Hiaasen. Many of his lyrics are tongue in cheek, often critical of something or someone. Prolly his best known album would be Excitable Boy 1978.. which has Werewolves of London, Roland the Headless Thomspon Gunner, and other great tunes on it. here is his offical web site..http://www.warrenzevon.com/index.htm check him out.. I think you will find him extremely amusing and talented..
