I don't know if I mentioned this before, so sorry if I did.
My brother, who is in the British Army, go injured by sniper attack in Iraq. He was shot in the leg, he was the lucky one, a few of his guys were not, and died.
Before being shipped home to the UK, he was sent to a hospital which was treating all injured soldiers.
This happened just before I came to live here. I asked him what were the USA soldiers like, this is what he said....
'Their approach to survival is very different to ours. However what drives us and our goals are the same. I have never met a finer set of men. So determined and ready to fight for their country, just like us. I am proud to fight alongside these men and consider myself lucky to have them watching my back'
I don't need to say anyone :-4 :-4

Could you list even 3 things you think we've done well, do well, have accomplished??

this is awesome. He puts it more eloquently than I ever could but it's exactly how I see things and I would say it's exactly how most of us feel and why we get a little cranky whenever people choose to poop on us and our country. :-6

We would never have won world war two without you.
I like Gallbally's answer, do not confuse the people with the government.
I think we here in FG have some great American friends
That is a grand thing about america.
Many great entertainers, in music, film and writing.
We in Canada have a great many imports from the USA of many things
I must admit the USA has had a big impact on our nation, and to insult them is to insult us as well. We are alike but different, and I think you can say that about any country you stand up next to the USA.

It does rain a bit up round Seattle they say, and we don't have tornadoes, but yeah, they have more sunshine in general I'd say, jaysus, if it doesn't stop raining soon I am building an ark over here in Ireland, tickets are 80 euros, for that you get 3 days on the ark bed and breakfast, if it goes on longer than that you have to pay more, oh and you better like animals, cause there are a good few knocking round on it.
