Sputtering, could be carb troubles, bad gas does that too. I had a car that did that needed to be re-wired. The wiring was bad, it only had 10 thousand miles. Lemon

Don't joke about that - I actually did drive into a river once! I only got out because I opened the door and jammed my leg in it before it sank!

Interesting. I'd like to know when a car was last available with a carburettor

in the UK - I'd guess about 15 years ago!
