I don't suffer rudeness from people in my home so why would I suffer newbies calling my friends and I nasty and ignorant in our home? Neither of you is very impressive so far. Did you actually think you could censor our comments by the little disclaimer in your OP? FG doesn't really work that way. Rather than tell us how nasty we are, why don't you sisters sit back and get to know us before you attempt to slam us.

So you like Michael Jackson. Fine, whatever. You can. But don't be rude to us because some of us don't like him.

A little self indulgent that it takes over 2 minutes to get to the actual song but what can you expect from blokes that write a song about fish heads?

The early stuff I liked (Jackson 5 and so on)

But I pretty much agree with this..it makes me feel uncomfortable. The same as when Bill Wyman was with Mandy Smith.

When I was younger I used to quite like the old songs like, off the wall, beat it etc, but since the first case when the young boy was paid off, I can't even listen to his music, if it comes on the radio, I switch station.

He does explain how these attitudes toward Him arise. I have an interview somewhere...It's like the bigger the star, the bigger the target. You know when you're - and I'm not being a braggadocio or anything like that - but you know you're on top when they start throwing arrows at you. Even Jesus was crucified. People who bring light to the world, from Mahatma Gandhi to Martin Luther King to Jesus Christ, even myself. And my motto has been Heal the World, We are the World, Earth Song, Save Our Children, Help Our Planet. And people want to persecute me for it, but it never hurts, because the fan base becomes stronger. And the more you hit something hard, the more hardened it becomes - the stronger it becomes. And that's what's happened: I'm resilient. I have rhinoceros skin. Nothing can hurt me. Nothing.

[...]

There's a lot of jealousy there. I love all races, I love all people, but sometimes there's a devil in people, and they get jealous. Every time there's a luminary that goes beyond the heights of his field of endeavor, people tend to get jealous and try to bring him down. But they can't with me because I'm very, very, very strong. They don't know that, though.

I hope that goes some way to accounting for His apparent problems.

Wacko Jacko?. Liked some of the material when he was black, but lost interest when he started making those stupid noises. The only high point was Eddie Van Halens solo in Beat it.

We cannot be sure of MJ's guilt on the kids in his bed situation. By the same token, LFOMJ cannot be sure of his innocence. So every person ever acquitted at a trial has been innocent?......Somehow I doubt that.

There were surely unfortunate events that led him to become the man he is, abuse etc, but that doesn't make him innocent. I have a great interest in Springsteen but a lot of people don't like his music. So what? I won't lose any sleep over it. We all like different things, but liking a controversial figure invites debate. Defence of your hero is admirable but naive as you don't know him, you only know about him.

Roly Poly fish heads...wow...I've been singing that to my kids for years and they thought I'd made it up. Gonna show them koans video.

Anyway.....play nicely.

Kathy Ellen;558302 wrote: But, Weeder, ask yourself this question. Why is he inviting a child to sleep in his bed? That is not normal? How can we condone known facts that he's admitted to about asking young boys to come to his home and both the young boy and he admitted to sleeping together? Example:Cory Feldman.

I am sorry, but I just don't understand this...if a parent , relative or teacher were accused of sleeping with a child they would be hung from the rafters, but MJ gets away with it. Why???????

Kathy... Trials involving the wealthy for some reason, always have twists and manipulations. One of the reasons why, I dont pay any great attention to them. I only hear the buzzing and the fallout. I have often said that if I, or any regular citizen were accused of some of these horrendous acts ( and I do think they are horrendous) theyd throw me in jail, and get rid of the key.

Personally,... I believe OJ is guilty.

Regarding Michael Jackson... Did the parents condone their child slleping in his bed.... because they wanted money? Many people have no problem with young children being in bed with adults, MJ feels entitled to take familiar liberties because he is a ( or was ) a huge celebrity. Or because at one point, the parents were ok with it. He may have put himself in a trap. As I said, he definately is bizzare. But again, we will never know for certain what went on. I have never had any personal connection or feelings for this entertainer. Simply really liked the music he produced.

Another example of music icons whos activities could have put them behind bars.. many times is The Beatles. God only knows ( with what they were involved in) the crimes they possibly committed, involving sex, and drugs.

I make no legal or moral judgements. I do not know these people. Simply like the music.

I have to admit I think the parents of the children are not without blame.

Why the hell would you allow your child, who is the most precious thing in your life to stay over a 40 year old mans house for the night?

Didn't they think it was odd behaviour?

well i'm just glad marilyn Manson is normal , the thing is I had exactly the same arguement with gary glitter fans , I feel the reason these fans take it so personally is that in the back of thier minds they know their hero is probably guilty and they can not admit it to themselves ,I have not said anything personally to wacko's fans but i have had a few personal attacks on me , that says it all :wah: :wah:

To quote Jesse Jackson, "Seems that Michael is in a certain plane. You might call it abnormal, you might call it bizarre. It may be all of that, but it was not illegal. And when the case came down to the facts in evidence, the jurors determined that to be their collective point of view as well". As to whether or not giving minors alcohol was involved I've no idea, but the jurors in court seem not to have been convinced by any evidence relating to that charge, they dismissed it. Why should I assume it to be true, given the fact that the allegation went to trial and was rejected.
