My children refer to their relations as Auntie and Uncle, obviously not at the same time :sneaky:
I always think it sounds so much nicer to hear family spoken to with their official title

As teenagers, me and my brother used to affectionately call my Mom "I", short for Iris. She didn't mind and it seemed pretty cool to call her this for many years. Then my ex-wife said I should call her "Mom" as you only get one. On this rare occasion I took her advice after reflecting on it a while. My brother still calls her "I" and looks at me strangely when I call her "Mom", but for me, it is the ultimate term of endearment and I'm glad I came full circle on it

I grew up in a family that we called Aunts and Uncles with titles in front...however, we call our Grandfather by his real name, always have...and always will...but everyone else have different names for....
My kids are the same way...My brother had a hard time with being "Uncle Matt", when my oldest was old enough to talk and called him that ...he would reply with "yes, Nephew Jed"...was cute.....
I also miss Variety shows...back when I was a kid, "the Carol Burnette show"...loved her...and of course:
Sonny and Cher, Donny & Marie, the smothers brothers, flip wilson...would rather have my kids watch that stuff (even if it would seem corny now) than these reality t.v. shows..--which I don't let them watch certain ones...

I never realised until i was a parent how special the title of 'Mum' is, my Mum is the most wonderful person in the world and she throughly deserves to be called Mum.

When the kids are squabling and constantly screaming out mum, it drives me nuts, but i wouldn't swap it for the world. They go to bed and in the peace and quiet i realise what an honour it is :-4

Simple things. Sitting in a field with your friend twirling a buttercup under thier chin, if you seen a yellow reflection - well it was obvious that person liked butter :wah:
Looking for 4 leafed clovers, being scared to cross the canal bridge cause trolls lived under it. Running as fast as you could up the big hill to see if you would still be alive at the top. Playing shops with a bunch of leaves & stone's. Just using your imagination really :-4

My daughter must say 'Mum' hundreds of times a day, the one time you answer 'yes' a bit sharpish is when she says 'I love you', talk about guilt trip! :wah:
