Hey BC....

How ya been...?? yeah, I am back.. ta dum....

actually I have been checking in and out now and again, but sometimes the personal attacks get a bit ferocious.. and I don't need that. I think most people forget that agreeing to disagree is normal.. and that you shouldn't attack someone on a personal level just because you can't think of a clear response to their post.. sad really.. flaming someone because you disagree with them is a cowards way out of a discussion or debate..

anyway..

just my couple of pennies worth

I was going to suggest you starting a thread in members news to let everyone know your back but on reflection with the amount of views here, this is probably the best place to say hello, been in touch with flopster yet?

BC, I do remember a time when there wasn't so much fighting, much more fun and activities going all-everyone going to the Pub for fun. Alot more people on with greater diversity of interests and fast and furious posting.

I guess a forum is like real life, it changes. We shall just see where these changes lead us.

Me to CG... I mean at least discussion was civil, and people agreed to disagree.. hell.. I disagreed with Spot all the time.. but I never attacked him or his views on a personal level.. or dissed him publicly... I would save that for PM''s and such..

anyway.. I am about now.. checking in a bit more regularly.. so..

nice to see a couple of smiling faces here..

Oh yeah the pub, that was fun but during that was also right around the time that MC was formed after months of fighting, we must be careful to not wear rose tinted glasses here. When i joined 2 years ago the bitching was unbelievable, not really changed much to be honest. Diffrent people being attacked thats all. Sorry but its true.

Never knew that, BC. I never knew of no feuds or fighting.

I still don't know all the stuff right now. I always feel clueless. It might be better sometimes, that I still ponder.

I just understand, that you treat one another as you want to be treated. You have always done that, dear grey certainly has, most of us do.

I'm relatively new here and i have no idea why the fighting is going on. I have to assume that it started before I joined.

When I log on I usually click on "Today's Posts" to see what I've missed. When i come across the fighting just skip over it.

It does get boring though.

Chonsi is right. Life changes...our own circumstances...the world in general. IMO FG is not so vibrant as it was when I first joined....people just don't seem to want to make the effort any more....they take the easy way out and leave.Their choice I guess, but sad that they don't want to make the commitment anymore.

Maybe real life is tough for many of us and when we come here we just don't have the energy or will to work at keeping the vibrancy going. I have belonged to Social Clubs that have had their ups and downs depending on the membership....perhaps it's the same with forums.

The big question is.....what can be done to bring the garden back into 'full bloom' ?

Apart from getting rid of the back biting.....what do people want here ?

For me Bez its just to spend some chill time amongst friends, as in real life friends come & go, some you see daily, some you see monthly, some you see yearly, pretty much the same here.

Xmas & new year has always caused friction, RL & Internet, we'll move on from it ;)

Going on from what bez said, I myself don't feel that enthusiastic about being here any more, I am starting to wonder about what peoples agendas are, and I am increasingly finding it difficult to enjoy myself, as its not very enjoyable. I am not going to leave as thats not my way, but I am not that mad about staying around either right now, which makes me sad, as there are lots of wonderful people here and its been great to get to know them. Such is life I suppose, and the inevitable consequence of endless and pointless conflict is fatigue from those of us who are not into bitching about each other all day. Oh well. :(

Disappointing that in such a huge place people will still look for bitching.

Seek and you will find. Hunt and search and beg and it's a guaranteed result.

BREAK TIME.

I haven't looked in here for ages, being discouraged from posting because nobody ever replies to me! I can see that friendship groups develop, but as a relative newcomer to what looked like a lively site fairly free from unpleasantness, I've been disappointed in the lack of response.

Perhaps I'm just too boring.

a real, genuine effort to not deliberately hurt each other?

How about making a real genuine effort not to give a flying fook what someone else thinks of you or your opinions.

A little perspective goes a long way. This IS, after all, an internet forum... not your grandma's house. If you can't log on and say what you mean regarding an issue without it turning into drama central, then maybe it's best to delete your account. I'm sure there are people who just LOOOVE to hate me. I don't care. I say, waste your energy hating if you want, I'll be posting my thoughts anyway. :D

I don't believe you're boring, TigerLily... you've got a very valid point. I'm certain there's some explanation for it... and it likely has little to do with you, either.

Hey Tigerlily, do what I do - join in the stuff you enjoy or feel strongly about. Remain flippant and indifferent to some of the cr*p that goes on here, ignore the personal attacks and just have fun!!

Though I have to say no-one has been horrible to me yet - I do feel a little left out:sneaky:

I have to admit that I don't post in here as much as I used to, because things have just been looking so gloomy around here lately, and everytime I log-on some arguement is usually brewing into something nasty, and I just end up logging off normally. It's a real shame, because we have so many fantastic members here all with our own personalities that make this place so interesting, which makes you want to log-on and talk to your friends.

I really hope that the future is bright for FG, but at the moment I really can't see that sometimes. But I'm all for injecting some sunshine and fun into the place, sign me up! :-6

Chris, you always come across, to me anyway, as a really nice and sincere person. It would be a shame to see people like you driven away. Yes, some of the nastiness is entertaining but it's people like you that are needed, we should take time to cherish and encourage the caring and compassionate side of this place not stamp on it and ridicule it.

Personally, I'd chat to you any time.:)
