Listen..I am sitting here in my comphy chair, feet up..cell phone next to me, lap top in lap, and TV on...what more could a person ask for??

Oh..and the turkey is cooking and the laundry is going too. And they said I could not learn to multi-task.

MMMMMM....I'm not sure about that one...then you'd have to include digestion and a lot of other things.

It HAS occurred to me that playing mah jong is good mental exercise! ;)

(Lulu's FAMED gift of rationalization begins to "kick in" here.....) YES! I'm doing something beneficial! It's an exercise program. (Or programme, depending on your location.) I shall research this and then, like Susan Sommers and her "Thighmaster," I shall make millions to donate to charity. :sneaky:

Here's a plan....many people have said that motherhood robs a woman of her brain! You and I, through our research, will prove this untrue! ANNNNNNND...we will create a system by which a woman can EXERCISE her brain right there in the comfort of her own home!

We'll be rolling in money!

"The Hammylu System to Mental Mastery. Using Ancient Chinese Wisdom to Achieve The Memory of Your Dreams."

HEY! It can work!

Yes...you can win! There's strategy to it, which begins to dawn on you as you play. Remember to go from the top down and try to think a move or two ahead.

I wonder about some of these games...if it's actually possible to win with a combination of several moves, or if there's one and only one initial move which'll do it. This "wonder" usually happens as I'm banging my head on the desk top!

the trick to ma jong is to pay attentin and dont let it get down to three of four tiles stacked on eachother and not have any other combinations left remaining..you got to scramble the set up early soemtimes to keep playing even if you have moves left...dont ma jong yourself into a corner....;)

Good advice, gupperita! The game I like best doesn't have a scramble option and so it's "all or nothing."

Some day, I intend to learn how to play a group game...Chinese people seem to find it all fascinating. When we were in China, I saw thousands of people sitting in parks or on shady street corners, playing the game, chatting and generally enjoying life.
