I dont know if its a cultural thing. How is Heather having only one leg, Heather making an idiot of herself.
Im sure it happens in the US, but that doesnt mean I have to go mainstream and find it funny.
Jokes I find funny dont involve someone's physical disabilities, birth defects, skin color or mental status. I just dont think that is funny. But hey thats me and Im allowed to think so.
Okay so I got one for you.
Koan was walking through the park one day. A squirrel ran up her leg under her dress. She just laughed she didnt care she knew she didnt have any nuts.

I got it..she didn't find the joke funny, does she need you to come here demanding that someone should apologize?
It seems as though Jim wasn't the only person to find it funny.
I'll make a note for future though, that anything that may upset your friends we MUST apologize for. Noted

You would have thought that if she was offended by the joke then she would have stated her piece and never re-entered said thread. That way she would not have been offended any further. JMO

There is nothing that rates one person's opinion more valuable than another's. If an apology is needed then apologies are due on both sides.
There is this strange phenomenon that I keep hearing of that when one person takes offense at something then everyone else is suddenly crossing a line. In this case we've got one(perhaps two) people who don't like these jokes. We've got a larger number of people who are having lots of fun with them. DG received an apology so I think she should now apologise to jimbo for insulting his sense of humour. Just my opinion.

Does anyone else think this has all got just a little silly?
Jimbo made a tasteless joke, DG didn't find it funny, OK fair enough but Jimbo makes jokes (some of them are even funny), DG is obviously a sensitive person who doesn't like this type of joke - which is her right.
Perhaps it would be best if DG ignores Jim's funnies and Jim never ever makes jokes again:D but could we stop having a go at each other on a thread that is supposed to be fun!!!

You have to be kidding me! No one was insulting his sense of humor! His personal opinionwas that it was funny, fine! Dg's was that it wasn't funny, fine! Its when Jim was rude about her not liking the joke that the apology was necessary! Geez! for a forum who is all about everyone deserves their own opinion, ya'll are heartless!

Just forget about ST. There are always going to be people out there who find humor in the misfortunes of others. Let them be. They're the ones that look like jerks on the outside.
And just for the record Jimbo: I dont make fun of bald, fat, acne-ridden, mentally handicapped, physically handicapped, birth defected, or any other person suffering an illness. I dont make fun of jews, hindis, arabs, blacks, or indian people. And Im fine with that. I like being that way. Im sorry all of you think I am an uptight, immature ultra-sensitive bitch. I said what I had to say, gave my opinion, defended myself, and even answered a few questions along the way. I dont want or need an apology.

There have been many threads discussing things that I have personal experience with and that I find uncomfortable. If I enter the thread I either make one statement and leave or I tell people why I have a vested interest in the topic. If she didn't want to divulge personal information then she could have stayed out of the thread. These jokes will always exist. It was never personal.

Everyone handles disability in different ways, The thread was in no way meant to hurt DG's feelings.
