I have real trouble understanding this stuff. Even the abbreviations used on this forum go over my head and I have to guess their meaning from the context of the sentence or post.:-3 :rolleyes:

Yes they are cute when they're small Abbey and behave rather like puppies. There's a place I visit down the coast here where they take in babies whose mothers have been hit by cars. The baby wombats are looked after then released back into the wild when they're old enough to fend for themselves. They get big and bad tempered round puberty. And become nocturnal. The young ones romp round and chew your shoelaces. Adults have hard flat butts. If they are threatened by, say a dingo, they rush into their burrows then block the entrance with their butt. If the dingo tries to put it's head in the burrow, the wombats crush its skull agains the side... Nice critters. I've got some pics somewhere.. will look them out.

I must say I've never considered marrying a hyena, Snooze! Or even a wombat. Here's the pics I promised. The little blonde is my youngest daughter who recently popped back to Oz for a three week vacation. Look at those sharp claws in the first pic.. don't p$ss off this critter!!! Especially when he grows.

Aw shucks Snooze The baby wombats are probably fairly cute. The adults definitely not. Like koalas which will rip you to shreds then wee on you or vice versa. Best left alone in the wild where they belong. They look nice from a distance.
