Tsk, tsk...no class at all. Just like your current sig, I think I remember that line...from the third grade.

I remember fondly when this forum had people who respected each other and tried to keep things upscale. That's obviously fallen by the wayside.

You do realize that you just stood up for profanity, don't you? Shame on you. Profanity is the last resort of a feeble mind. When someone can't create a civil reply, then sink to profanity.

If you're going to appoint yourself high priest, Jives do it with everyone. I don't believe anyone in here purposely uses "language" with wild abandon.

Except for you and Sleezecontrol, obviously.

I don't expect you to care that their are children on here, you've shown your lack of morals most clearly.

Total f*cking b*llshit in my case, and I'm offended by the suggestion. I noticed my "5000 posts!" thread was mentioned as a complete and utter waste of space... well, Clancy seems to enjoy my posts since he PMd me straight away and said so. I'm offended by the remark and I'd like to ask who in here doesn't occasionally post something "fluffy"?

If someone has something to say about the quality and quantity of my posts, please address it here. I'd like to hear some thoughts on this.
In the not to distant past, I was accused of being too serious in my threads and posts. I was solicited by members, publicly on the forum and by private message, to loosen up and have fun in my posts. That could be considered a solicitation for "fluff" or "fluffy" posts, IMO. It shouldn't be about numbers, it should be about content. While you and I have had differences, you have a right to post as you see fit. I think many of your posts contain valid points, facts and opinions.

I usually try to stay out of these things, but I can no longer sit on my fingers to keep from typing. Let's teach the children on here to call people names! geesh

I come to the forums to get away from my kids arguing only to find argument after argument here. So much for relaxing in the garden. :-2

See? There you go! It is possible to get upset without using profanity!:wah:

Congratulations!

As for Snooze...I do take offense to the gross and inexcuseable cartoons she posted, and the profane language she uses pretty consistently. Especially considering the younger minds around here.

But since she's apologized, and I've reported the cartoons and they have been deleted, I expect that she will take a kinder, gentler tone from now on. If she does, so will I.;)

All that's left is for you to apologize.

You are of course right. I come here to avoid arguments and nonsense that i encountered on other forums.

I too like to relax and have fun here. I really enjoy FG. When I can I choose to stay out of it. I like a quiet life, I'm too old for this crap now. However, all I made was a simple request that someone back off for a bit ...in the hope that it would settle down, and once again my morals, and everything else are brought into question.

I'm sure you wouldn't allow the same thing to go by.

Clancy.
No I wouldn't let it go by. I meant Jives was upset by the language because of our younger users yet he resorted to name calling. Just doesn't make sense to me.

I fluff most of the time Snooze - I like your fluff......:wah: :lips: As to post quantity - I don't compete. Some of my favorite people are fluffers. I don't happen to be married to a fluffer and I have outposted him. Perhaps I should start a competition and a bunch of stupid fluff with him. I crack myself up........ Keep going Snooze - I enjoy your posts.

BTW - I did not read the entire thread but had heard of it from other threads...... This is just my answer to Snooze.

Good ole Censorship ...

Dont you think this place is a little too serious for children? I think most of the things we talk about were for adults, and I dont mean smut, I mean discussing baby rapers, religion, etc...

I can't help what kids overhear. I can only go by the old rule: Would you say that if your mom was in the room? I can usually say yes.

I could say yes as well, because my mother is an adult. My question was dont you think some of the content in here is a little too serious to be handled by children under 15-17 years of age?

Certain topics likes homsexuality, molestation, brutal crimes, drug addiction, etc?

To take this a step further, I can understand a certain age limit for certain topics, but I have been talking to my son about all these things for years. He's 16 now, but I have always taken the tack of truthfulness, honesty and forwardness about all these topics with him. When he asks, I answer his questions as best I can. Some things I bring up myself, such as drug addiction, molestation, etc, so he can learn how to protect himself when I'm not around. Why would we want to shelter children from a place that could teach them so much? Why hide the ugliness that exists in the world? To hide it only serves to prevent a child from recognizing it, and avoiding it.

I completely agree with you about being honest. I would want my children to hear it from ME. I dont want them getting there information elsewhere, you remember how that goes? I once had a girl tell me (when I was little) that a woman gets pregnant by a man urinating in her mouth! I just would want to monitor what my kid sees/hears. I dont have any children, so I dont know at what age certain things are appropriate. I was asking. Thanks for all of the thoughts.

You will. And making sure they get the correct information is just as important as getting the information in the first place, of course. My sister shelters her son to a degree that he will be far more dependent on her for far longer than is healthy. Parenting is the toughest job there is, and we all make mistakes. It's just my belief that honesty is best.

Snooze, I know you started this for YOUR rant but here is mine...

I cant stand hateful people who project their anger at others and especially those who throw in nasty hateful words directly at someone who has a weakness either physical or mental. This post was meant for me to rant out loud only! I just had my feelings hurt so I thought I would rant about it to feel better!

Raving lunatics drive me crazy so I thought I would become one for a few seconds!
