I still think Rush were one of the most seminal and important bands to arrive from the other side of the Atlantic
On the day that Slade got to No.1 with "Skweeze me Pleeze Me" I went to a Radio 1 roadshow at my local youth club. Fluff was the DJ and inbetween speaking to millions, he kept smiling and blowing smoke at me as I leaned on his turntables. On learning of his predilections at a later date, it did make me wonder.....
He was a key figure in my music education though

i listen to a lot of Manic Street Preacher songs. the North east is the rock capital of the country and most of the youngsters here are very much into heavy metal rock...and we even have some great bands from this part as well. so i am sure many have actually listened to all of the bands above. i personally have listened to Stereophonics and Manic Street Preachers...although i am much of a Nirvana fan. this place sure rocks!!!!...

Hi Unc...have you heard of a guy called Dave Matthews who sings 'Sing along' on B.M.G. album 'The Complex' ? he has a touch of Daniel Beddingfield about him.

No Bez, I haven't, but I do like what I've heard from Daniel Beddingfield.
I've reacquainted myself with Norah Jones' Come Away With Me a couple of times today. Not what I generally listen to but it is an exceptional piece of work. Must be mellowing in my old age

My son has a Norah Jones album. i'll have to borrow it and have a listen. I like Katy Meluah, although her 2nd album isn't so good.

I didn't give the album the attention it deserved first time round. My short attention span had me jumping to the songs released as singles. Lending my ear to it again, I see, as with all slow burners, that there are some jewels which lay undiscovered such as "Shoot the Moon".
Strange really but it was my love of the new Corrine Bailey Rae single, that rekindled my interest in Norah as they sound similar
