oh ok ,, ye spose you have to be careful when they are little and wanting to chew everything,,, ok ,,,who has she gravitated towards most? (who does she love best so far :sneaky::wah:) well i was going to say out in a jumper or some piece of clothing from one of you who she likes to cuddle up to ,, but ye i did hear about the ticking clock years ago a sort of old wives tale to do with it being like the beat of a heart. :o she remembers laying next to her mummy and siblings

Also are you going in to her while she is making noise? if you are she will associate making noise gets you to come see her. try waiting till she is quiet and go in pay her some attention and then leave, I know it sounds daft but they connect things,, make noise people come, so try to just go when its quiet.

Just trying to think of stuff to help ,, nothing worse than lack of sleep :-5 you never know she might be too tired herself tonight :lips:

She can howl for 4 hours solid without a break, trying to keep her awake for an hour or two before bedtime tonight hoping she will sleep.

She finally nods off about 2.30 am. We ignore her as we have been told to do but seeing we have been going to bed about 10 cos we are knackered it makes for a long night.

She has taste, she wont leave me alone;) follows me all the time, if i sit down she lays at my feet with her head on my foot, if i move so does she.:)

she may be missing her mom.

put a little wind up alarm clock under a blanket close to where she sleeps, this sounds like her mother`s heartbeat and it may help her sleep thinking her mom is beside her.

I was forced to ask a wood floor salesman to come into my house to give an estimate. This has got to be one of the single worst experiences of my life.

I have been intruded upon and violated in the worst way.

The stress alone this morning in anticipation of someone knocking on my door was unbearable. The waiting and wondering how Im expected to greet them, not knowing if there would be small talk required was too much for me.

Im a total wreck.

I was thinking about leaving a note on the unlocked door telling them to come in and if they need anything we could communicate via me in a room upstairs.

I will never, ever make an appointment at my home again.

No cookie selling girl scouts, no Jehovas Witnesses, no city council candidates. My front door is off limits for now and ever more.

I do not need that kind of trouble in my life.

This day flooded my fragile mind with memories of the welcome wagon lady trauma 3 years ago.

I talk to myself a lot.

My wife was wondering how that will work when I achieve senility.

I got to thinking:

So if I tell myself something, and then forget, and say it again, will myself remember that I said it before and complain, or will it be new to me as well?

Assuming I remember who I was talking to in the first place.

Yes ... I had my first assessment a couple of weeks ago. It went really well. I sat all weekend marking all the stuff off on my grids. Now I can see exactly where my gaps are and what I need to do.

There is still lots of writing to do but at least my head is clear now.

I'm aiming to finish at the end of May.

It IS fascinating!

I have a child in my class with PDA which is a part of the autism spectrum. The children I have worked with, who have autism/ PDA/ Aspergers are actually incredibly bright - usually the smartest children in the class. Sadly, they also have problems which hamper them. My Aspergers child didn't like people looking at him or watching him and everything had to be exact - you had to do things in order and he didn't like unexpected change. My PDA children insist that others follow the rules but don't think that the rules apply to them, they also constantly interrupt and are constant attention-seekers. They can't help it, it's part of their condition.

It's amazing how vast the autism spectrum is and what a wide variety of areas it covers.

I believe Einstein, Newton and Mozart were considered to be a part of the autistic spectrum also, which illuminates just how bright these children can be!

In fact, there are several people who frequent this forum that are most likely on the Autism spectrum but don't realize it. Its good that you use the word 'condition' instead of 'disorder', because its not a disorder or a disease to be cured.

Temple Grandin is quite a story. Last month HBO aired a movie about her. It was well done. Clare Danes played Grandin in the movie.

Another good movie to watch is Adam.

Is it coincidence that the increase of neuro-developmental disorders

(eg. autism, ADHD, SIDS & the like) coincide with the time of increased vaccinations? There's no actual 'safe' level of mercury (thermisol) that can or should be injected into a child's body let alone the numerous other toxic ingredients that make up vaccines.

There's also plenty of evidence to suggest that environment plays a big role in the cause of these disorders as well.

The toxins abound. They are in our drinking water, processed foods, plastics, even concentrations of metals in the air has been linked to autism. Hard to avoid all this stuff & of course mainstream media is about the 'worst' source of truth regarding this or most any other matter.

One has to be really vigilant about doing their best to avoid as much of this nasty stuff as possible.

With the exception of emergency treatments, western medicine is a farce.

Many cases of Autism have been treated successfully, compliments of homeopathy:
