Yea i think he is He knows they could help him and i think he realises now its something thats gotta be done. Also it will be a bit of respite for my mam really, i mean she will be up and down visiting but at least when she is home she can relax a bit , specially through the night:D I just hope they can actually get some improvement out of him:-3

PS.............. I was promoted to Stage2 ambo volunteer last night.

Pic 2 - Well it's up and going like a steam train LOL (take your minds out the gutter!)

Pic 4 - Looking through the rigging of the Dutch barge 'Albatros' down the 'run' to towards the sea, at Wells-next-the-Sea, N.Norfolk, as night is nearly upon us.

Pic 5 - The harbour quay at Wells, at dusk.

Pic 6 - Sutton Swing Bridge opening for the passage of a boat. This is the first time in all those years of travelling this route to and from holiday that we have been held up by the bridge being opened ! Gawd you should have seen the bloody long queues of traffic either way, must have stretched nearly two miles !!

Pic 7 - That was all for this !!!! A poxy 20 foot sailing boat, that the skipper couldn't or wouldn't 'step' his mast to go under the bridge !!! I was expecting at least a 'coaster' LOL

And last, but not least - an incident where a dad and his two young children were trapped by the incoming tide !! There are enough warning signs up, informing people that should they cross the 'run' at low tide, when the siren sounds ( and it aint arf chuffin loud), everybody must return immediately back across the water to the beach, otherwise they risk being cut-off by the terrific tide rush when the tide turns to come in, and it comes in very quickly !

These three were on an island of sand that would be completely covered after only about 20 minutes ! Chris rang the coastguard, then ran to the edge to shout for them to stay put, as they looked as if they were going to try to swim across ! The dad heard and put his thumb up. The inshore lifeboat was there within about 6 minutes !!!! I think daddy got a good ticking off by the crew, also probably by his wife when he returned to the beach. It was reported about in the local paper. This sort of incident happens fairly regularly at Wells - I think it is amazing that adults are so stupid to risk their own children like that.:-5

You can see Chris in the third pic (in the white T shirt) returning from the waters edge. The people swimming in the sea there are about 50 yards from the incident, in safe swimming area, marked by yellow mini buoys.

got nine hours sleep last night !!

so looking forward to a few days away, ok, its nowhere exotic but its a change of scenary then it will be weekends at daughters,sorting the garden out again for the winter. you ought to see our runner beans absolutely masses of them !!

We have a smell which permeates our house - not unlike that of a sewer coupled with urine !! Before our holiday, Chris took off all the boarding on our half-landings to check the down foul pipes which (as it is an end of a line of 6 houses) run through the walls separating us from our neighbour Jane. Jane's house is council owned and she is the tenant. Our house is privately owned by us.

Chris could not find any leaks or any evidence of past leaks, which was a relief !

We approached Jane and talked about it. She said she had noticed a smell also, and had asked her son (a plumber) to check her pipes, also at the half-landings. Apparently there was a covering of brown slimey stuff down her pipes, and her son was asked to get it cleaned off and check to see if there was a leak anywhere. Presumably he got it sorted.

Obviously a wall divides the two properties, with her pipes on her side of the wall, and our pipes on our side.

She said she would complain to the council and get them to sort it all out, because the smell was still there !

We went away for three weeks and returned to a stinking house !!!!

We rang the council, because we hadn't been able to catch Jane, and although they could not act from a third party complaint, they did say that they had received no complaint yet from Jane !!!!

We called in the environmental health and he came to check our side, and see if he could smell anything, of course it's sod's law that there was only a trace of the pong ! He did notice this however, and said he would leave a card in her door to ring them urgently, so they could gain access to her property. Jane works in the daytime so wasn't in at that time.

However we will wait and see what happens next. The EH chap said to ring him straight away when the smell is very noticeable and he would try to get here as soon as he could.

At the moment we are using quite a few incense sticks, bowls of dried lavender etc. when the pong gets a bit strong.

Just can't understand why Jane doesn't sort this out, after all it won't cost her anything ffs, her landlord is the council !!!!!

Just thought you might enjoy reading that little everyday story of suburbia, and I hope you weren't eating lunch at the time LOL :rolleyes:

they're not using their shower at the moment but it hasnt been fixed, did ask if i could move rooms but got told they were going to use the spare one but now the youngest son is in there !!

they are now using the shower on the landing which i have to clean before i can use it cos of the crap they leave in there :-5:-5

Right Chris's laptop sorted....went back to factory settings........went and saw the nice man at Comets who sold me somefing a couple of months ago and asked him somefing and said he would do it if we brought it in.....so Chris went and got it as wasn't that far away and all sorted:DOh and no charge so how good was that:guitaristIm on it at the mo and its so much better......all I gotta do now is sort out the internet on the other Acer one I have here as we have secured it now and it wasnt b4.Oh well better get on with putting stuff on here......love to Everyone:-4:driving:
