That's funny, I did the same thing when I was 13, guess boys are slow. My mom could not get our gas "oven" to light, she tried for about 15 or more seconds. Then her back started to bother her, so she backed away from the oven. Then I lit a match and bent down and leaned into the open oven holding the match. The gas was turned on all this time, so needless to say, when I leaned all the way in with the match "BOOM", it finally lit with a tremendoius flash!!! Both my eyebrows & eye lashes were completely singed off, thankgod I was not really hurt any worse than that! I was very lucky, my guardian angel was definetly watching over me that day!

Thanks for your kind words Lil, yes that is something I will never forget for the rest of my life! That's why when I finally got my own house, I made darn sure it had an "electric" oven!!
