I was like that last night. Dead tired but couldnt sleep. When I did I had terrible nightmares which is unusual for me. I woke up screaming or moaning.

Im worried about things.

You've just reminded me - a high proportion of my first teachers were WW2 veterans. I remember our geography teacher was the tail gunner in a Lancaster bomber and spent a year or so in Colditz, and the Headmaster (Latin teacher) was in the infantry. I have a clear recollection of him coming into the classroom and telling us that before operations the CO would say, "Now, it's likely some of us won't be coming back from this..." and him commenting that on this occasion the CO didn't come back. Looking back on it I can now realise he'd had a drink and was nearly in tears. I think it was the anniversary of the CO's death.

35 years on I take this opportunity to salute and thank them.
