Well today was my first week back at youth footy venue, and of course things couldnt be expected to run smoothly:wah: Oh well never mind its over now and im home.

Well it's back to normal. I've not been able to get onto the internet all bloody day. Needed to buy a coach ticket for Chris to dash down to London to see his very ill sister in hospital. Andy not in very good spirits, Chris has wrenched his knee, and I've nearly put my hip out of joint - now very sore. It's all Chris and my fault that unfortunate things happen in our household - apparently. As I say it's all back to normal here. Had a brilliant holiday, now we're getting karma for that, or something. I ain't happy about it today, but at last I've managed to get on the internet and get Chris's ticket, and print it off. However, the bloody printer is now on the blink. Did somebody once say, it never rains but it pours. Still as Carol says, tomorrow is another day.

Hope you all had a better day than I have. Still, life wouldn't be interesting if every day was nice, calm, ordinary etc. and s**t definitely happens :-5

I think I need another holiday - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr cos I'm just a tad drained ! :rolleyes:

Good morning everybody, hope your Sunday is a good one.

As I can't get my photos on here because they seem to be too big ! I have put a Wells-next-the-Sea piccy from Photobucket on showing all the VVVVVPBHs below the pines. It really is a super beach, particularly for the children. The sea, with the 'run' to the harbour is superb for all sorts of water sports, and there is a safe swimming area in front of these beach huts marked out with buoys. Our VVVPBH is only a few yards from the beach's ice cream hut and a set of stairs over the dunes to the car park! The caravan site is only the other side of the carpark so we walk from our 'tourer' to the beach each day - very useful, and we avoid having to pay £3 each day for the privilege of parking a car near the beach.

Abbey I was aware that FG removed scores after a while, but it still upsets a poor owd thing like me - bit deflating.

My hubby has got to dash off to London tomorrow to see his sister who is in hospital - she's terminally ill with cancer. So a bit fraught in this household at the moment.

I may be able to get on MSN later, and maybe our Carol will as well :-3

HI Gill:-6 Im so sorry to hear about your Chris's sister. It must be so hard for her, also for Chris and you too. I hope she isnt having too much pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you:-4

It will be a difficult time for Chris - he was an adopted baby but my brother down in London while he was doing 'family tree' stuff, found Chris's blood mum. She was married at the time, but obviously not to his 'blood dad', so Chris waited to make contact with her. My brother later discovered that her husband had died, so Chris waited another couple of years then made contact. She was 'gobsmacked' and thrilled and said her life was now complete. She told her three offspring about Chris a few months after that. So Chris found he had two sisters and a brother ! That was about 17 years ago. Since then his mum, and brother have died. Now one of his half sisters is dying. It is so sad, but at least he found his 'roots' and some lovely relatives and had quite a few years of that joy. In fact his sister, her husband and son stayed on holiday with us for three weeks. The ill sister and her husband stayed for the first week, and she seemed to enjoy the break and being on holiday with her surviving siblings, although she was obviously in discomfort with the tumour on her spine, she was making the best of it with a very brave and cheerful smile. At least she will have the holiday to remember while she is in hospital, and we thank God that she was able to come along.

As I say it's going to be a very worrying time for Chris, and my heart goes out to him.

But we try to remember the fairy tale story, and how much joy it has brought to Chris's 'blood' family over the years, and of course to Chris. Andy also 'found' another Gran and Aunties and Uncle - and all this has affected him greatly as well.

I don't think many people can say they've had three proper grannies !!

I'm not looking forward to this coming week, with Chris being away and Andy not very happy about things, but I'll just have to grit me teeth and keep on truckin !

as you can see, i didnt make it back here last night !!

had a great time yesterday, did my usual trip to the garden center, we got dinner prepared and then we were going for a walk but i got fiddling about in the back garden and one thing led to another and before we knew it, most of the garden had been cleared and daughters winter log supply was nicely stacked aand ready to be chopped up !!

the poor old dog didnt stop all day AND i took him out before we went out.

oh well, back to normality today

we always had a bit of a family joke about my mum singing along to " songs of praise " etc, she'd do it in an exaggerated voice sometimes, just to make us laugh.

strange thing is, i found myself doing it the other day and i wondered if she was looking down, having a laugh at me

This photograph is of Wells-next-the-Sea quay. 'Albatros' is a beautiful Dutch sailing barge (with auxiliary engine) that seems to have made her base here. She does trips out to sea, and when at the quay doubles up as a restaurant, pub, B & B, and is very popular. Further details about Wells can be found on the Wells website - just type in Wells Harbour and you'll find apart from interesting details, a webcam facility which is updated usually every 5-10 minutes and focuses on the harbour. There are moves afoot apparently, to add another webcam that focuses down 'the run' towards the sea.

This is the place that we wanted to retire to, but the house prices are stupid-high, and I feel so sorry for youngsters, born in Wells and who want to stay living there.

Rich people are systematically 'killing' these delightful coastal towns and villages by buying up houses and cottages as 'second homes' and renting out during the holiday season. This causes these places to 'die' in the winter months, so trades people cannot afford to stay with much reduced trade and move away to get a living. This, of course, becomes detrimental to the 'holiday' and tourist trade and reduces the facilities that these 'second home' buyers once found so attractive !!!

I just can't understand why the councils don't put restrictions on this particularly damaging trend before it is too late to reverse.

Hi there Joan....hope Sophie is ok. One of mine has Cancer..........heartbreaking. She has gone to the vvvvvvvvvvvvvpv for a week with a couple of the others and yes a human as well to look after them by the way lol as she loves it there as it has a good size garden and being so secluded makes them love running around out there. Then I have a big decision to make...........Please God let it be the right one.You take care lovely ladyxxx
