I love cucumbers! As a side with a sandwich I'd have them chopped up with a bit of salt and definitely in salads! Yum!

14 years old. i had just gotten my Motorcycle liscence. i was on my Dad's old 360 CB/T Honda. he was on his new Goldwing. we went for a ride together. out to Springbrook Park, up HWY4 to HWY 30. went all the way to Carroll on HWY 30. had a late lunch at some diner there, i can't even remember the name, but MAN that was a great Coconut Creme pie.

got caught in a bug swarm half way to Carroll. Dad had a wind screen and full face helmet. i had a skull cap and goggles. i looked like Swamp-Thing if someone had doused him with herbicide; green and gooey.

the ride home we had the wind to our backs instead of at our side.

it was great. we stopped at some little farmhouse around 5pm. trying to decide what route to take; direct to mom or leisurely. we talked like two bikers out on the road that met up a few days back. we weren't two guys that didn't understand eachother. we weren't angry son and defensive father. we said more to eachother in those simple conversations than we ever had or since. we were just two guys, on bikes. Beautifully wasting an entire Saturday.

The summer of 1976, when our family took the camper & traveled the Gulf Coast states. We went down home to Mississippi (went on our friends' boat for the Blessing of the Fleet), over to New Orleans (crossed the Ponchetrain bridge & went to the French Quarter), then went over to Florida & went to Disney World & Sea World. That was AWSOME!!

Only if I have a few drinks in me. I grew up with an alcoholic father. My mother was wonderful with showing affection, but growing up in that environment kinda saps the affection right outta you.
