Ducky, Joan is one of the 'originals' on FOC, always posting jokes, poems, chatting about all sorts of things, then her hubby Tony became ill, then he had a stroke and so it went on for quite a long time. It must be devastating to watch your soul mate of 50 years or more, just deteriorate before your eyes. I have so much admiration for Joan's strength and her undoubted sense of humour - she still posted regularly on this thread for months, putting jokes on, and poems and general chat. Anybody just popping on from time to time would never have realised the trauma that was Joan's life all those months. It was only latterly really that her posts stopped. They had been getting more infrequent as time went on. I would sometimes put a message on for Joan just in case she had a read of the thread.

On MSN, yesterday, she told me she just couldn't face coming on the internet, let alone having to tell her internet friends. I dare say that in a while she may feel up to coming back, because I think she misses her computer friends. I do hope so, because she always brightens the place up whenever she posts. Joan is 78 years old today, bless her. :-6 :-4

I'm feeling much better...found out my cold was not a cold but bad allergies It's awful to have allergies:mad: Seems that benadryl is helping me more than the perscribed meds.

Come home from school with one hell of a headache.

Starting to make me feel a bit ill .

morning everyone,

didnt get here yesterday, not well again so spent ages in the doctors being pushed and prodded and its another kidney infection so got half the chemists shop here at the moment.

i did pop out for an hour or so last night to our darts presentation night.

first time i've ever been to one of them and there were no trophies to give out !!!!

the organizer said they were of sub standard quality and had to be sent back.......... thats the first time thats happened ever so i think he was telling a few porkies :rolleyes:

going to read back while i have me T and toast.

my eldest daughter has got it now too ( and i havnt been near her for about three weeks )so i really think it must be some sort of germ thats going around at the moment as she's now the 5th person i've come across with it :rolleyes:

HI helen:DGot soaked taking the dog out this morning:rolleyes: she has her appointment this afternoon to take out the staples in her paw,,, only thing is i took one out yesterday:o well it was a bit skewiff then she caught it on a thread on her blanket,, so it was practically out at one side,, i couldnt really leave it like that so i took it out,,, she is walking much better now as well,, it must'nt have been right for a while:D
