This thread seems to be going down the drain:( I have a busy personal life and always make the effort to come on here but no more. I know I said I wouldnt leave Fg but after a lot of thinking have decided to concentrate on my real life its just not worth the effort. I think a lot of the FOCers, have been hit by personal stuff at the moment, and it's sod's law that it happens all at the same time. I know some of us are struggling to keep a 'stiff upper lip' and 'carry on as best we can', but sometimes it just doesn't work. Things conspire, sometimes, and with the best will in the world a person cannot fight to survive any more. It is noticeable that all over the site, some of the nicest members are leaving. I know personally of quite a few are just fed up with certain other members who seem to relish the in-fighting of an argument to the point of personal insults, sarcasm etc. There is no need for rudeness and insults during a debate, because if somebody stoops to those sort of tactics then that person has immediately lost their argument ! It is also noticeable that the oceans of 'word games' are taking over the site ! I must confess to having a couple of goes on those, only to boost up my post tally for a bit of a giggle, but once you've done them for about half an hour, they really get tedius. However, each to their own !

But on the Forum Garden generally there seems to be a creeping malaise, and a sense of 'fed upness' on several of the threads. People seem to be 'falling out' with each other. This is more of a risk on the debating threads, when some people just haven't the faintest idea how to conduct their behaviour towards another who has a diffferent opinion, which is sad when it comes from apparently very intelligent people.

It seems to be quite common these days for the first page of 'Today's Posts' to just have 'word games' from top to bottom, and often going into the first half of the second page !!! Any guest reader looking at that first page may well just go to another site, believing that Forum Garden is just a 'word game' forum ! I do hope that some of the Moderators actually read my post, then they may put on their thinking caps to try to sort things out, and maybe restrict the quantity of different 'word games', and other actions to try to lift FG again.

It would be sad for the FOC to fade into oblivion. It is undoubtedly the most successful thread ever, I should think, on Forum Garden. FOC is only as good as all the lovely people who post on it, with such a variation of posts, it is no small wonder that so many 'guests' are busy reading ! I would think that some of them may now be covered with cobwebs, sitting all that time in front of their computers ! Also, possibly, some of the men may have grown unintentional bushy beards, because after all the thread was started well over a year ago !

I shall post as often as I am able, and I do hope that you all will do likewise. We do have fun on here, we help each other, we're there for each other, and we welcome new faces, because we are all very friendly people.

Please try to keep our thread going................................

H I dont want this thread to finish.....but if we want to continue WE ALL HAVE TO PULL TOGETHER as we are all part of it ......not just me and nobody here is more important or means more on this thread then anybody else.Kay is seeing what I have seen for awhile now and no its not nice.Kaz will be away more at this time of year and she is great on this thread and gives her all when shes online and now she cannot be about so much its been bloody hard work on here sometimes and has made me very unhappy when I know people are around but are not posting.Loyality is a part of what this thread is about.Some have tried to copy this thread but in life you can try to copy but you need the main ingrediants for it to succeed and in their case................us.I am willing to give this thread a chance again but I cant do it single handed at times when Kaz isnt about.I have about double posts to anyone on here and yes I also lead a very busy life and have a life away from here.I dont expect folk to post as much as I do but what I would like is abit more support sometimes.Nobody is being picked on but at the same time certain things have to be said because I think we all love this thread and none of us want to just see a thread die that has to be one of the most successful never mind on FG but indeed the net.I am leaving this matter to you guys as I have already said that I will stay here as long as I see I am not wasting my time and energy.Some of you may I know do give your all when your online and for that I thankyou.I also know that people want to go on other threads and nobody is a "prisoner" here fgs and all I am asking for is abit of loyality as that happens to be such an important part here I feel....anyway the ball is in everybodys court.

I started this thread for Carol, because she was so devastated by certain things that happened on another site. It really took off ! Maybe we are all getting a little 'thread lagged' at the moment, when you consider we have had long spells of over 200 posts each 24 hours ! I can understand how difficult it is for people to read back after only 24 hours ! Perhaps we should ease the quantity of posts a little ? But people post what they want to and when they want to, and the daily page quantities do vary. It isn't necessarily that people are loosing interest in the thread, but that they may have stuff going on in real life, or that they get involved in a debate on another thread, or they have a spasm of activity in the arcade. Sometimes they just don't feel like chatting. That is what this thread is about really, you can all pop in here whenever you want, to catch up on any goss. or just to say Hi to friends ! We have all made a lot of super friends on this thread ! There should be no pressure to post a set number of posts per day, but it is true that sometimes there is nobody posting for a few hours and if one of us is sat on the thread by themselves, it can get disheartening - these things happen, because of other's having 'real life' things to deal with, or just the fact that there is the 'time difference' to allow for, etc. IT IS NOT BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE 'GOING OFF' THEIR FRIENDS ON THIS THREAD, it just happens from time to time, it is natural. I am sure nobody wants this thread to collapse like so many others do, WE ARE STRONGER THAN THAT !

WE JUST CANNOT LET THIS GO DOWN. I believe we need this thread, how many others like it are there on Forum Garden ??

Because that is what it is, a hiccup. When Carol says that she is often ignored when she posts on other threads, it is a fact - it has happened to me as well, quite often, except if I post something controversial, then I get pounced on by certain members, from a great height, either rightly or wrongly ! So I don't post in other threads very often at all these days, except welcoming newbies and birthday greetings (when I notice them ).

Also, I find from my own experiences, that one's own real-life happenings can affect what is put on the thread, and the frequency that any post is made. It happens. BUT it does not mean that interest in this thread is being lost.

As Carol says, we must ALL pull together. THIS THREAD IS A RECORD BREAKER, LET'S MAKE MORE RECORDS, THAT OTHERS WILL FIND IMPOSSIBLE TO BREAK !!

mrsK if this happened, it would literally break my heart. I have never had friends like this ever before, in my life. -1

I know this is for popping on Gill when we feel like it but it also has to hold peoples interest or they just wont want to come on here.As I have said I have noticed people are trying to copy this thread but trying to be suttle about it.....we both know that FG was taken back as they hadnt a thread like ours and wondered what the hell we was upto.But one thing is for sure...we will lead and never follow.The pub is a nice thread and a funny one and hats off to them I have to say.Anyway Im not going to keep going over old ground here and I have made my thoughts clear and yes am willing to carry on ................God I love this thread and the people on it and have had some great times here which may sound odd to some but the truth is I have.Anyway I have to go to London now buying stock and will pop in later when I get back...........lets see if we can get this mess sorted and back to what its meant to be all about.......FRIENDS having a chat and sharing....to just say hello and go is so easy.....lets see if we can have REAL chats like we all used to and not have to wait till we get a drama such as this to make us have these chats.

think i must be a bit like mrsk, i havnt noticed anything wrong with the thread but then im the one who falls over a stick in the car park and breaks a toe :rolleyes::D

i have a bad memory for names, which is why i always say " good morning etc everyone " so i dont leave anyone out.

i lead a very dull mundane sort of life which consists of sleep, dog walking and peeling bloody spuds, along with the seemingly increased bouts of illness.

as i said to carol a few days ago, im as sick of posting about it as you lot must be of reading about it but thats about all that ever happens to me

i have got something going on here at the moment and i think the messy stuff is about to hit the fan.

this is the reason i was on here last night but didnt post cos i was on the phone a lot, then i got into an " oh god, why me all the bloody time " fit, after that i had a good cry then i had a hissy fit

and it still hasnt solved a damn thing !!!!!

my hours are begining to increase a little bit but all that means to me is that the "men " in this place,if you can call em that do even less, so im even more tired than normal !!!

i dont want to see this going down the pan either but its summer time now and theres other things that take over occasionally and this is probably why things have dropped off a little bit.

Hahaha oh I have my moments, (very few thankfully,) but yep I was just about to head back there and read the new posts, so we'll see what has been said! :sneaky: :p But that did really bother me, and it's tough to do that, but sorry I made ya nearly choke on your coffee, that wouldn't have been pleasant. Though I've told many and I'll tell you, COFFEE IS EVIL!! :wah:



As for the rain, yeah we tend to get hard by the rain where we live, though thankfully we don't leave next to the River Severn like a lot do in our city, and it always overflows, now they are the people I really feel bad for during these times. They surround you everyday

They help and protect you

They try not to let you down

But even angels make mistakes

do you believe in angels?

I do

I call them my friends.

They do all the things an angel should

They make you laugh when you are sad

Make you feel better when you're sick

Stand up for you when you are tormented

Love you when you feel as if no one does

Doesn't that sound like an angel?

To me it does.

Everyone needs an angel

At least one good one

or you life isn't complete

and won't be

Till you find your special angel!

just heard the extractor fan go on so i guess we are open again today :-5

didnt get any potatos in cos someone else was supposed to do it for me but i saw there were none in there this morning so my asking didnt do any good :-5
