Historically, tax cuts help the economy because it gives more money to the people, which in turn gets put back into the economy.

That's true when you cut taxes for the poor but never when you cut taxes for the rich and certainly not when you cut taxation for the big corporations.
A move from direct taxation to indirect taxation of luxury goods would benefit everybody.

Firstly define "fair" 'cos I'm almost certain that our definitions are mutually incompatible.
Secondly, what authority does a neo-con talk show host that you consider his word to be worth listening to? He might call his organisation a university but it's nothing but a propaganda outlet nontheless.

Bollocks. Things don't change that quickly trump is getting credit for poilicies instigated by obama just as obama got the blame for the damage done by bush. Trump is putin's creature and you do not live in a capitalist country you've just been conned in to believing you do.

Ha! Yes they do! It NEVER got better under Obama. Look at the economy under him. Obama would LOVE to take credit for what he didn't do. Just the word of Trump being elected sent stocks higher because captialist investors knew that the economy would grow rather than shrink like it did under Obama. Obama was Anti Business and Conservatives are pro business. If you were an investor which person would you want? Plus all of the mass regulations were cut by Trump which were costing Billions and Billions of dollars. Watch what happens when Trump's tax cuts take effect. Booming economy. Watch and see. Mark it down.

Here there are talks of a tax cut to middle income earners and big Corps.
This after cutting funding to social entities such as safe houses for battered women, drug rehabs, foster care, job provider agencies.
And what's interesting is at the same time whispers of raising the GST which everyone gets stung with.

As long as GST is like VAT and only levied on luxury items is this a problem?
If it really is a "general" Sales Tax then it is indeed a BIG problem.

UK VAT is 0% on "Life Necessities and 5% on other basics such as heating oil - the full 20% is therefore charged on things considered to be luxuries.
You and I would class many things as life necessities that the government class as luxuries but the intent is clear, it is the execution that is flawed.

In many cases poverty is not a choice. The new tax bill just makes the rich get richer and the poor poorer. Jesus himself came for the poor and the oppressed which is what
America is trying to boost . Help the rich get richer. This is not Christian behavior. Regan took all controls of the Banks in the futile hope of trickle down prosperity which has been shown to be a false idea .. Then greed took over and look what resulted in 2008.

GOP TAX PLAN PASSES LARGEST TAX CUTS IN HISTORY: It cuts taxes on 80% of Americans, 15% will stay the same and 5%, rich people, earning over $500.000 per year will see an increase in taxes. It's gonna save between $1600-$2000 per year on taxes for the average American. It cuts the Corporate tax rate from 35%, the highest in the Industrialized world down to 20% which is going to bring jobs back to America. Obama added nearly $1 Trillion on average per year to the deficit. This at worst will at $1 Trillion in 10 years, but it won't do that anyway because it's going to generate more tax revenue than before. It will probably cause a surplus which we could use to pay down the debt, if the Liberals don't find a way to spend it.
Upon this Bills passage, Wells Fargo and 5/3 Bank announced it was going to raise their starting pay up to $15 per hour for employees. AT&T and Comcast announced that they are going to give $1000 bonuses to all of their employees for Christmas this year. AT&T alone has over 200,000 employees.

ATT has more than 200000. By the way, the same day they said they are giving that 1000 bucks to 200000 employees, they laid off nearly a thousand.
That is where the money is coming from, I reckon.

Taxes are basically a pool that everyone pays into in order to share the benefits of something they get back from it. For instance, in the UK we still have the NHS, despite the Tories' attempts to Privatise it. The NHS is funded by our Taxes, and you will find that the vast majority of Brits have no problem with this, and most, including myself, would even be willing to pay a bit more if necessary in order to maintain it. However, if the Tories get their way & sell it off, then there will no longer be that expense to the Tax Payer, and magically Taxes could then be dropped. However, the Health Service would still be there, but it would be funded by the Private companies who would then be running it as a Profit Making Venture which would be funded directly from Private Insurance. So, eliminating the NON-Profit funding might save you £1 from your pay packet in taxes, you would have to pay Private Health Insurance (which would most likely be made mandatory) £5. But, hey - you've managed to cut taxes by £1.

Historically, when taxes are lowered, tax revenue actually goes up. The reason is that people spend more when they have more money which helps the economy. That's why low taxes are a good thing. Yet, those on the left want to keep taxes high to keep people poor and dependent on the Government programs, which in turn keeps them in power.

In America, Blacks and minorities are held down by Democrats, yet they continue to vote overwhelmingly Democrat. The people who benefit most from Capitalism is actually the minorities. Over here, Democrats are obsessed with race. They falsely accuse white people of being racists continually. So, my point is to show that Capitalism benefits minorities even more than it does whites.

Of course, lower taxes will have a positive effect on the economy. I fully expect we get an increase to 3% GDP, if not a little more. Considering the lame years of the Obama administration that will be like a bonanza.
Now the problem is the deficit.
Too bad nobody has the bluster of a Trump to address the real threats to the future finical well being of our country, Trump has already made it clear he has no stomach for real reform addressing entitlements.

True, if consumers get a tax break, they will spend the money on goods and services. That logic is quite provable.
However, the idea that corporations will spend that tax saving by raising salaries, and putting that money back into the consumer stream has yet to be proven.
History shows that the money often goes into re-purchasing company stocks, bonuses and perks for executives, and such.
They will be willing to show higher profits, because they have less tax to pay on those profits. They MIGHT spend more money on infrastructure and research & development, which might translate into more money in the general money pool, but there is no incentive to encourage that.
The Government will have less money to spend on programs that benefit the nation and its citizens. Highways and bridges will continue to go without repair, other projects which actually put people to work will go wanting.
On the positive side, we may soon see absolute proof that running a country like a business will always be a bad idea.
The shareholders of a nation are its citizens, and the monies they pay in taxes are intended to be returned to those shareholders in services rendered.
Not squandered away on corporate welfare.

A lot of what you say is true.
When a company makes a higher profit its first obligation is the shareholders (owners).
Workers like businesses must provide value for their labor. More employment opportunities which lead to competition is what leads to higher wages, not generosity.
A lot of promises are made by lower taxes, ignoring the great increase in our national debt. Spending, Deficit Concerns Arise With New Tax Law
Now what I am waiting for the hyped up infrastructure bill favored by both Democrat and Republican parties.
It will pass as 100 Senators and 435 representatives salivate over the PORK it will bring home.
