morning guys,

wet and horrible out there today.

got myself in a bit of a pickle yesterday. got a bit stressed over one or two things then at about T time, thought i was going to have a kidney stone attack, which got me even more stressed. even though the place is full of people, im still pretty much on my own and im a pathetic whimp when im ill :D:rolleyes: and i was worried about leaving the dog........

so by this time i'd launched into a full blown panic attack. anyway, the pain killers i'd taken had started to kick in and i slept for a good while.

still in a lot of pain this morning but its too low down for kidney stones and im begining to think i pulled something bringing in 10 bags of spuds yesterday.

we'll se how i get on today, im supposed to be working tonight aswell :-5

G#Gill;840816 wrote: Hope, the biggest regret I had over my son, is that I could not take him to a pre-school play group. We lived in a quiet little village right out in the sticks, and Chris used our car for work, so I had no transport to take Andy to another village that did have one. There was a bus, but that came through the village about every three hours, and once on Sunday :wah: However, once Andy had started school, a pre-school playgroup had been started up in the village :-5. It is so important for toddlers, particularly only children, to be able to mix with their peers, even if it is only once a week, then when it comes to going to school, it will hold no anxieties for them, and besides they may even have made friends at playgroup with some of the children starting at the same school. That's got to be a plus point.

Hope you may get friendly with other mums who take their children to the playgroup, and have a good chat with them, even visit each other's homes so the children can play away from the playgroup.

As I say, I do bitterly regret not being able to take my son to a pre-school playgroup, as I'm sure that formed the foundation for him becoming a bit of a 'loner' at the beginning of his schooling.

:-6:D:-4

morning gill,

just read this with interest, im an only child and like you we lived out in the wilds and in the holidays i never saw another kid to play with. it wasnt my parents fault, they had to work.

now i wonder if thats why i cant open up to anyone, prefer my own company alot of the time, this also might be why i dont go on msn a lot I DONT MEAN THIS LIKE ITS GOING TO SOUND I just want to keep me to myself. its hard to explain.

bloody hell, i think that panic attack i had last night aint worn off yet, could do with a bloody good cry right now:-1

being an only child living out in the sticks too, i know exactly how you feel, growing up alone does make you prefer your own company sometimes. Jacob and i can stay in the house for days at the time and not see another soul and it doesn't bother me a bit. i know about the panic attacks too i have then from time to time, you just hang in there, and cry if you need to cry, i found out it helps.

and know that we're all here when you do want somebody to talk to.

here's another hug:yh_hugs

Helen, I sent you a PM matey ! Take care of yourself, and if you want a good cry, you just have one. You'll feel a little better afterwards I'm sure. This happens to us all at some time or other, sometimes there seems to be no reason why we should need to have a good cry but that doesn't matter - have a cry Mrs.

Just don't let the buggers take advantage of you at work. They should arrange for a fella to come in and shift those heavy spud sacks, you are under medication and shouldn't be doing heavy stuff like that !! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :-5 So much for their 'new found' christian leanings !!!

Hope6;841461 wrote: okay, time for another stupid question!

what's shepherds pie?

Shepherd's pie, I suppose originally contained minced lamb, but can be used with any minced meat really. It is just cooked minced meat, mixed in with pre-cooked mixed diced vegetables including tasty onions, herbs, seasoning, anything really. Then thickened with gravy so that it is not runny, and placed in a baking dish. Potatoes cooked and mashed with butter and a little milk, and spread on top of the mince, then the job lot bunged into a medium hot oven to brown and crisp the top of the mashed potatoe for about 30 minutes - or until the potatoe top is browned to your liking (I like it nice and crispy, without being burnt though:wah:). You may like to have separate vegetables served with it, but this is not essential. This is a very tasty meal. Because we are vegetarian, we use Quorn mince - which is a mushroom derivitive, which takes on the taste of whatever it is cooked with, and we cook it in a saucepan in a little olive oil, with the onions first).

This has always been a favourite meal with me, since childhood ! ;) :D

Carol i hope you have had a good selling day today:-4 Gill i could just eat a good shepherds pie now!

Helen, its funny cos im not an only child but i too like my own company sometimes, and i often "dont feel like" talking. We all deal with stuff our own way i suppose, but you know if you ever do feel like a chat theres usually one of us about:D

My venue was on today although most of the others were off, so at least i dont have to do some of my reports at home in the morning to get a head start on Monday:rolleyes:

She is so beautiful Kaz! My Miniature Pinscher Lexie had a similar experience. She is only 4 lbs but they gave her anesthesia for a 10 lb dog when she was spayed last year (she almost died on the operating table). She also started bringing stuffed toys to her bed and hiding them under her blanket to "protect" her puppies. She never did produce milk but I called my vet and was told this happens sometimes and she did stop this behavior after a week. I'm sure Shelia will be just fine but I would call the vet just to let them know what's going on. Again, she is beautiful and I am glad she's on the road to recovery. :-6
