Well when he goes for a cycle ride, he takes plenty of drinks and food with him, and goes at least 50 miles ! I wish I could go with him, but I think I wouldn't get very far, as once I'm in the saddle I have difficulty putting my foot to the ground, and that is not safe really. It's a long story. Anyway I wouldn't stop him going, he does enjoy it so much. He went for quite a decent walk today with the dog and Andy, and at the moment he's inspecting the inside of his eyelids, in the chair next to me, and making little snoring noises :wah::wah:

Hiya Kaz !! I hope you are having a nice Sunday :-6

Carol we had a terrific hail storm here yesterday, and we've got two skylights in our roof, so you can imagine the racket they made on them !!:( There were some kiddies on the playpark when it suddenly came down, you could hardly see across the road ! The kiddies were screaming trying to get out of the storm, there were about six sheltering under a sort of wooden fort thing - trouble is it wasn't a solid 'roof' over their heads :wah::wah:

That's the minimum distance he cycles, Kathy, he reckons it's not a proper ride if he does much less than that ! He has cycled through the Derbyshire hills (the Peak District) so that is a very up and down route, but he loves cycling in Derbyshire. :wah: He once went for a cycle ride with a neighbour, who always cycled to work, and who had spent a holiday cycling to Spain and back. Chris and this fella (who was about 25 years younger than Chris) cycled about 130 miles in a round trip ! Chris was up and about as usual the next day doing the garden, this other fella was in bed for three days, with every muscle aching !!!!!! :wah::wah:

I'm just watching 'Seaside Rescue' on BBC 1 TV. It just reminded me of when my Dad had been sorting a problem in his narrow boat on the canal on the outskirts of Nottingham, where he moored it. People were walking along the towpath, it was a lovely Sunday afternoon. Dad had completed the job, and was about to test the engine. Two middle-aged couples were approaching along the towpath so Dad called to them, saying he had just finished sorting the engine and could they possibly give him a push start ! No problems, the two fellas bent down and put their hands on the gunwhales of the narrow boat and prepared to push !! However, my Mum appeared from inside the boat, and came to their rescue, ticking Dad of for being 'so silly'. Fortunately the walkers could see the funny side of it and cracked up laughing, although they had a fairly sheepish look on their faces, having fallen for Dad's practical joke !:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl
