know how you feel Hope. My dad died the year before Daniel was born and mum died theday I got home from hospital after having Daniel. They would of adored him like I do.:-4

I'm a little sad tonight, i noticed that it's April 3rd, my dad died on April 3rd.

I know it's been over 20 years ago but i still think about him and miss him when this day comes around.

Then this morning a friend of my dad's ,someone he used to work with's, 16 year old son was pulling out of the driveway of their house and was hit by an 18 wheeler and killed!

This really knocked me for a loop, all i could think about was what those parents must be feeling. and all the things he's gonna miss, he had gotten on the school baseball team and had just pitched his first game as starting pitcher the night before.

and the man that hit him almost had a heart attack after the crash!

i sure this will be something that he will never get over!Hope we NEVER get over the death of a parent EVER and quite right so.It dosent matter even how we were treated at times by them......we just dont forget them and at times more so than others.Your dad would be so proud of you Im sure the way you are bringing up his grandson and Im sure he is looking down on you both saying...........Im here Rhonda and dont you forget it;)

As for the death of that boy.........oh dear babe Im so sorry.............may his family get all the love and strength they so need right now.

my dad died when i was 16 so he didnt know his grandchildren, my mum died 16 days after my last grandson was born so she knew about him and had seen the scan pics but she dosnt know about my little chezzie, well i say dosnt know but im a great believer in the after life and i know they are all keeping an eye on me and the kids :-4

just sometimes i wish they wernt :D

it's true we never get over the death of a parent and it's made me think of Daddy a lot more ever since Jacob was born, Dad died when i was 17 and missed so much stuff.

My mom gets after me about it, she says, stop thinking about it, because there's nothing you can do to change it! so i basically can't talk to her about it!:wah:

i feel as though he knows how we are and that we are alright, and i have faith that i will see him again one day, i like to think he's up there somewhere taking care of my other baby that i lost.

Hope i think maybe its very hard for your mum to talk about it with you, she knows you will get upset and of course no mum wants her baby to be upset! also she maybe dont want you to see her get upset too much, I have found through experience its so hard to talk about these things with the people closest to you, as they are also involved and have feelings about it, its easier to talk to other people, ones who have no involvement or practical strangers. So you know you are welcome to talk about anything you like here, or to any of us via pm:-4:-4

now my family are totally different , my mum always encouraged me to talk about my dad and i do the same with my kids about my mum. i also do the same about barrie, it keeps them alive to us and joking about the daft things, both said and done by them, and there were some believe me :rolleyes: keeps happy memorys close to our hearts.

Yes we often talk about things my Dad said and did, usually funny and naughty !! And we talk about Mum and all the lovely times the family had with them both, such lovely memories. And yes it does make it seem that they haven't really gone.

:wah::wah: that's right, the tag shows that he's had his shot so if he were to bite somebody they would know he's not sick

plus as many raccoons, skunks and coyotes as we've got around here, i wouldn't have a dog without a vacination, it's to dangerous!

yeah i was just reading in the local paper that on a local farm a baby colt got sick and died, they discovered it to be rabies, he had a small bite on the back of his leg. now the entire family has got to take the vaccine themselves because they touched him while he was sick.
