Maybe they should scramble our names around for a couple of days, just as a joke. I'll be Bez for awhile. :yh_bigsmi Who do you want to be?

How about.....Uncle Kram for his punnyness..:-6

BR, Accountable, Nomad, Valerie, OpenMind, Ted, Diuretic, Pantsonfire, Snooze, Bez and everybody who's made thoughtful contributions to this thread!!! Thankyou!! My view is that I enjoy posts with content. That's what a large section of the FG is about and what attracted me here in the first place - the lively unfettered debate - (though I also enjoy our lighter, humorous or relaxing, feel-good areas). I agree however that this content should be expressed without the personal diatribes we've had too many of lately. Let's clean up our act. But let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. The absolute last thing I'd like to see in here is a whole forum full of group hugs, smileys, flowers and nice Claytons posts. (Dunno if Claytons is outside Australia - its' the drink you have when you're not having a drink). Let's keep discussing issues but with courtesy and respect for differing points of view. I don't think I can personally do 'nice'. I can do honest, I can do polite, sometimes I try to do funny, I can do genuine concern, I can do friendly, even loving .. but 'nice' is kind of blaaaaah. Anyway, I like it here.

Gosh Snooze. Thanks. Actually, you know I find it very hard to post what I really think. It takes me a while to get it out. But I feel like I've laid down a heavy burden now. Grin.. And I might just go and sing in the shower... It's nearly midnight here. Time I was all snugly wrapped in my warm binky. G'night All !!!

Easy enough - first sign that they can't then a permanent ban is in order.

Depends how many warnings / close shaves they've had in the past.

That way crappy stuff can be moved there and potential members will not be subjected by the unfriendly stuff. Because truce or not, there will still be conflict here, some of it ugly. (Which I will avoid like the plague.)

Very very good suggestion. Let me get that done now. Done!

That was a mistake. Banned will be banned.

I'm sure that when someone is banned, that at least for a large majority, they regret what they said or did, and wish to make things right. I'm all for that, but then the problem is should this person come back will they be able to stop themselves from starting up once again, and letting old wounds re-emerge.

You hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what happens - *everytime. I think we have believers here now on FG that when we warn someone - and then follow through later and ban them because of another bad mis-deed it is for the best.

It's really easy to get along. Some people just can't help themselves and can poison the atmosphere with very little effort.

My suggestion is, keep the post counts, because I like them. If you want it to have an on/off feature in profiles, then people can choose what they want to do.

It's just that I don't want to encourage "battles". It's not my style and it always ends up with everyone losing.

'The Black Trench' or 'The Black Pit' maybe? 'Pitiful Posters', on the assumption that only those involved would have access.

Why would people want to go to a special place to battle it out?

There is RPG for playing, and PM's for personal stuff.
