hey nomad, i got a salt water aqaurium today........the guy is gonna set it up for me tonight.....yyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaa....always wanted one......

Great ! What size ? You know you have to wait for the cool fish, but you can always go look. What features are you going to use inside ? Is it wet/dry ? Tell me everything.

it's one hundred and ten gallons and i got two hundred pounds of live rock and the whole set up. i already bought six little blue damsels....to get it started. the guy gave me a book to look at and pick out other fish i want. he will ok or vetoe my picks. i want some coral too........later........he is going to maintain it for me so all i gotta do is gaze at my new friends and feed them....he said i had to wait three weeks and then i can start adding the really cool fish..........can you reccomend any you really like?:)



this is a family christmas present.....we all wanted it.....

Very nice ! Good move on the live rock, you wont be sorry. Damsels are nasty so make sure you get rid of them when the water is ready. 110 gl is nice, is it long or shorter and high ?

My last was 90 and it was high and it was a real pain to clean.

One thing I never got around to but had the idea of taking round hollow pvc and running across the top. I wanted to drill holes in the pipe and string live rock to it so it was hanging down about midway back. Like an overhang or rock shelf.

Start with a yellow tang because theyre cheap.(ask though the tangs are leaf eaters so they might nibble on live rock) At least in Fl I was paying about 15 bucks for one. Just to make sure the water is safe, theres nothing worse than losing a $75.00 fish.

I always had clowns w/ their appropriate anenome, just too cool. Powder blue tangs are nice and so are flame angels but their aggressive so you cant mix them.

I had a naso tang I could hand feed and pet, that was cool.

The live rock might limit your choices but once it blooms...WHOOOOOO ! Im excited for you ! :-6

I would go for quality rather than quantity.

thanks for the suggestions. i am writing them down. yea, i want a select few of really nice fish instead of a whole bunch of what ever fish.....the guy said he is going to pile the live rock so the fish have nooks and caves to go in....to me that is one of the prettiest things about a salt aguarium.....i can't remember the name of the light set up but it is enough to maintain corals....so the guy said.........i would rather look at the diff corals than the star fish stuff.......i am soooo excited to get it.........

This is the type of clown I always had. I think the anenome is a sebae (?) spelling is probably wrong. If they dont go to it you can put the anenome and the fish in a small container and it almost 100 % will, then you can transfer them back.

Whats on the floor underneath ? Salt creeps and it can ruin carpet.
