Oh and to Carol,

maybe as an American myself I can give some insight on our use of the word sassy.

It's used to describe somone who is outgoing and outspoken, independent, a little flirty and doesn't take anything off anybody. It always makes me think of a joyful person who is happy with their life, and is ready to take on the world.

morning guys,

still got our power as you can see, though 7000 homes have lost theirs already. its been bloody dreadful here and its supposed to peak around lunch time. i did sleep through most of it so im catching up by watching the news at the moment.

i did let the dog out just now and he had a job to get back up the stairs.:-2

yes about 2minits walk from the north coast but thank heavens we are at the top of a steep hill so at least we wont get flooded. i would love to go down there and have a look but we have been advised to stay away from it, not to drive anywhere and not even go outside if at all possible.:-3

just had a call from my friend about 20 miles away from here, shes lost all her green houses, trees down and shes had to get all her horses indoors. she said the damage is unbelievable.

Thinking of you Helen, it must be a bit frightening where you are, can you see the sea from your window ? I've just seen some spectacular film of the coastal seas battering promenades and houses, very scary for those people.

hi gill,

ive got free veiw and only now realized i can get sky news on there :-5 so i've got it on now.

the sun came out for an hour so i dragged the dog down the road to a little park thats set aside for them, to keep out of the wind.

the veiw across the bay was spectacular, i love the sea when its like that but of course far too dangerous to go near today.

looks like its starting to pick up again now and the rain is back

I'm going to be busy again today, so I don't know when I shall be able to get on FG, or MSN (which I have now got back - just don't know why I couldn't get in last night or first thing this morning !). Take care all of you, and I hope those living along our coastline don't get hit too hard by this latest bad weather. I see that several bridges have been closed, and some flights have been cancelled. I hope my sister will be OK, as she and her hubby are supposed to be flying down from Inverness to Nottingham East Midlands Airport today!

I hope everyone is doing well today. I'm sorry I missed all the goings on last night but I had to sign off suddenly, had a bit of an emergency on the farm. Let's just say there were cows where there weren't supposed to be cows!:wah::wah:

Anyway, it's 9 am here, and I've got to feed the baby and then I'm off to do some errands. So I will check in with y'all in a couple of hours.

we have blue skys here at the moment and the flood warnings have been down graded but this is how people get caught out, they go to see whats happening and get more than they bargain for :-2

my barrie was a storm chaser and he'd scare the life out of me, standing on cliff tops etc to video it all.

Hello all, Diane here from Columbus, Ohio where we were smacked with over a foot and a half of snow this weekend. It's been quite a while since I've seen this much snow and that was where I'm originally from back East, (Philly). When I grew up the snow was a high as your front porch! :wah:

My daughter Molly and I did have a blast yesterday cleaning snow off the car, shoveling our walk-way and taking pictures to send back East.

its such a temptation to go and have a look, its so much better in the winter before the "EMMITTS" ( holiday makers ) get here in the summer. anyway, with working seven days a week, we barely get a chance to set foot on the beach in good weather.:-3

Same kind of weather here too, cold but mostly sunny despite the gloom that the weather forecasters said was in store for today (I knew I never should believe a word they say!) :wah:

I don't mind Spring, just it means the start of my yearly battle with the dreaded hayfever, probably why I tend to prefer Winter hehehe.
