AFTR's Daily Commute

The road is long

With many a winding turn

That leads us to who knows where

Who knows when

But I'm strong

Strong enough to carry him

He ain't heavy, he's my brother

So on we go

His welfare is of my concern

No burden is he to bear

We'll get there

For I know

He would not encumber me

He ain't heavy, he's my brother

If I'm laden at all

I'm laden with sadness

That everyone's heart

Isn't filled with the gladness

Of love for one another

It's a long, long road

From which there is no return

While we're on the way to there

Why not share

And the load

Doesn't weigh me down at all

He ain't heavy, he's my brother

He's my brother

He ain't heavy, he's my brother...

Another photo from AFTR's photo album. This polaroid photo is of my sister and I. Both of us were still single and for awhile we hung around together. She was going through her "wig and boots" phase, and I was going through my "long hair and short skirt" phase. :wah: I was twenty and she was eighteen at the time. The red Volvo is my first car.

I also have a small scanner for ID's on my desk and a machine that makes ID's. The big shelf has been moved. I also have had a couple raises since then.

Hey Odie! :) I'm trying a new method on this post for embedding videos. Binbag suggested it. I'm fixing to see if it will work.

Fantastic! See that filmstrip icon on the top of your post? It's on the bottom line, fifth from the right. Just copy the URL of your video from youtube. come back here to post, press "advanced", click on the little filmstrip, and paste your URL in the box, then post.

When I post a picture from my computer, I upload it, then go to the papeclip icon at the top of this post, save it, then it's added to my post. Pictures need to be in the jpg format.

I hope this helps, Odie. By the way, the song above is beautiful and haunting.....I can't get it off my mind. ;)

I opened my own music thread as binbag did tell me how to do youtube....it didn't work, so I had to delete my thread.....for some reason, it worked until I opened a thread.

I've been posting pics since the new method was introduced, that one was easy.

Before I post any more of our vacation photos, I'd like to present two postcards. The first one is of the motel we stayed at. The second postcard is a picture of the town of Cherokee years ago.

Out motel room was small, warm, and comfy. We had one of those wide beds with a firm mattress. There were only two pillows, so we bought two more (brand new). The bathroom only had a shower, so I had to purchase a show cap. The electrical outlets were few, so we bought a power-surge protected cord with extra outlets for $3. We also bought a small folding table from the flea market for $2 for the bathroom as there was no place to put our bathroom accessories. I bought a small personal fan for $4 from the flea market to blow on us at night for air circulation. So, as you see, you have to adaptable.:wah:

The motel does not presently offer horse back rides, just reasonable pricing on their accomodations.

I am so glad to see some of my FG buddies come for a visit. :)

This is my horoscope for today:

November 14, 2010

Leo (7/23-8/22)

There's a mountain in your path -- it could be a bad habit, a challenging situation, or even a difficult person. But one thing is for sure: Whatever is blocking your progress right now cannot be ignored. Your first instinct may be to attack it head on, baring your teeth and using every ounce of your bravado to intimidate. This is not the best route. Instead, a quiet, constant attack is the best way to go. Just keep chipping away and this mountain will eventually crumble.

:wah: For the "mountains" in our lives...especially bad habits or challenging situations.

AFTR's Daily Commute

Post by along-for-the-ride »

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

Audrey Hepburn

What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like.

Saint Augustine
