Yes and that is just the surgery part of it. Sometimes they keep them in recovery for a long time as well, with the Physician right there in recovery with her. :-4

Mamarider and Sisterrider are being kept updated, just can't call out to us at this time. :-4
They could go as long as 8 hrs so 9 eastern time... then have to get back to her room.....

If we're this bad, can you just imagine what its like for her mom and sister?
I'm so happy to hear this Floppy what a long day for entire family Amen it went perfectly. She will be in Recovery for 3 or 4 hours with the Physician right there beside her watching her like a hawk. Excellent now I can breathe a sigh of JOY..!! The phone call store made me cry...
Mamarider Update:

Criss is in recovery for the next couple of hours. had one 4 centimeter tear in the artery and several other smaller ones that they got today. they'll let her heal and her blood thicken again for a few days and them go in to look around again for anything that may have been missed. but they feel they got a good 75 to 80% today and as the blood thickens it could take care of some of the smaller leaks by itself.

So, if nothing happens over the weekend our next update will be Monday.. told MamaR to get some rest

.....

File this under strange and Yikes in your memory about today kids...

MamaRider knew that Matt was going to try to call today before Criss went in but didn't tell Criss, just in case it didn't work out. So, Criss is laying there sleeping and suddenly does that startled wakeup thing we all do.., her mom asks her what's the matter and she tells mom that Matts on the phone. Her mom tells her that no, he's not but that he's going to try... Criss looks at her mom and tells her again that Matt is on the phone so she has to wake up...

and the phone rings..guess who

God I just love what those two have...
You people have no idea just what the 'knowledge' of your support has done for all of them. You give MamaR strenght when she needs it, because she knows you are out here, sending beams and prayers and lighting candles for Criss and all of them...

She doesn't just believe, she knows the difference each one of you is making in their life..

and she thanks you..

Thanks Diane, it's a pleasure to do it, it just a shame for the reason "why" we have to do it! ;)

Hindus believe that there are some people who choose, (through karma) to have many troubles and that those people (saddhus) exist to remind us of the fragility and tenuous nature of life. Now, I don't believe in reincarnation and I'm not a Hindu, but the idea of karma is appealing.

Criss is doing that for us now. In a way, she's given us an opportunity to pull together, to consider the fragility of life, to offer enormous amounts of love and support OUTSIDE ourselves, and although it's terrible suffering for her...in a way, every one of us (Criss included) will be better, in some way, for the experience.

Does this make sense? I'm not saying it well....but, at some point in future, she might just say it was a "good experience."

Woo!! I was so happy to hear she was in recovery I missed that detail.. :-3 Mamarider must be exhausted I hope she sleeps well tonight..:-4
Okay MamaRider just called laughing... her sister in law corrected her and she wants me to pass it on so that you don't think she's nuts...

It was a 4 centimeter pool of blood gathered at the largest tear, NOT a 4 centimeter tear! According to AntiRider the girl would have been dead in minutes with a 4 centimeter tear in that artery...

Can hardly tell they are so tired they are getting punch drunk, can you?
I'm in tears sitting here reading these last dozen or so pages of responses...I could feel the love and strength pouring out from you guys, all afternoon. Seriously...I was at work (yes, in the middle of all this I got an assignment, hopefully it turns into a job) and just after one o'clock, as I was chewing my nails down to the knuckles, I felt the most incredible wave of peace. After reading these pages I'm convinced it was you guys.

:-4 :-4 :-4 :-4

Looks like I don't have anything new to add...thanks, Diane *hugs* I'm overwhelmed...thanks.

It is said that if the Lord leads you to it He will lead you thru it.

Know that today there were only one set of footprints in the sand as He carried our Criss thru this ordeal.

I feel humbled and blessed to know all the people on the board who have done all they can do in the way they know how to aid in sending love, strength, and light to Criss and her family. Thank you RiderFamily, floppy and everyone else who has kept us informed on how BR is doing.

I can now go to sleep and rest easy knowing she is doing well.

Thanks again for the update, Floppy. I must have gone to bed minutes before you posted. There it goes. I'd only had 3 hours sleep the night before and I was bushed.

The news that Criss is doing well, and all the responses have brought tears to my eyes too. Well done FamilyRider.

The thought of everyone across the world, all metaphorically holding hands, and beaming thoughts of healing and love to Criss and her family has made me feel overwhelmingly happy and the tears I am experiencing are tears of joy.

You all deserve a big hug.:yh_hugs :-4

Due to circumstances, I couldn't stay up last night to hear the news but I prayed for Criss before going to sleep and this morning it is such great news that I am full of joy. What a great place FG is and such wonderful people all pulling together and wishing the very best for Criss.

How lovely that Matt managed to telephone her and that she knew he was on the phone by instinct.

I am still lighting candles on Miriam's great site and sending love and healing wishes and prayers to BR, Matt and all her family.

Great news.:-6 :-6 :-6 :-6
