Politically I am a social democrat. I accept that social democracy is the best that we have today to assist the oppressed and the downtrodden and fight against the domination systems that we have in Canada.
I do understand the American system of politics but have never analyzed it in detail. In Canada we call it a democracy but in fact we elect a new dictator about every four years. It is far from representative when the party with the most popular vote ends up being in last or second last place.
Here in BC we are about to vote in a referendum that will change that and give us proportional representation. I do hope it passes. It will make for an interesting experiment.
