The thread gives a good indication of where Trump's base came from. The vocabulary of proud, patriotic, exceptional, warrior, hero and especially Murdoch-inflammatory Fox TV "support our boys" all stokes up these appalling destabilization events and then you get half the US voters rejecting any objection as "fake news". If America had a door I'd lock it from the outside until they sort themselves out.
