Good for you, but some of those that are not big and intimidating are more prone to bullying, therefore having to deal with more abuse, as well as having to deal with the problem differently as a direct result -the problem always being the aggressor, which can be confused as the person getting bullied being the aggressor as is with this case.

I am on both sides here. AThere needs to be room for all beliefs and ideas, whether we agree or not. I am not a religeous person, but I am far from offended by signs of faith..Saying Merry Christmas, or greetings of any holiday. The only minor thing I take issue with is a local "controversy" about an area store asking its employees to wish custmers "Happy Holidays" rather than "Merry Christmas" My feeling is this, yes I celebrate Christmas, but if the guy next to me is a stranger, why should I automatically assume he does too? Some religions do not celebrate holidays, some celebrate different ones. I do not feel offended if someone says Happy Holidays to me!

Also, the recent issues of the Star Spangled Banner in Spanish. So what? Am I offended ? NO! Do I speak Spanish? NO!! Many countries (including our neighbor to the north, Canada) sing thier anthems in more than one language. That is respecting that more than one language is spoken in that country.

In fact, English is not even the "official" language of the US. It is just more predomanently spoken.

'Kay...just the simple fact that English IS predominantly spoken here means that if you want to live here, SPEAK THE F-ING LANGUAGE.

All this PC crap about using "Happy Holidays" vs. "Merry Christmas" is BS. If someone is offended by the use of "Merry Christmas", then they need to get a life and dial down the sensibilities. It's a couple of words for crissakes. Do I give a tiny rat's ass if I offend the person next to me by saying Merry Christmas? Not even slightly. This is America, where freedom of speech is still in effect, last time I checked.

I agree that people should respect other religions accompanied with what they celebrate. However, because the (overwhelming) majority of Americans celebrate Christmas, I dont believe anyone should be offended by being wished a "merry christams". It would be like going to a predominantly Islamic country and saying merry christmas. I respect that they have different beliefs and wouldnt be offended if they said(whatever it is they celebrate) to me. I would expect them to, its called courteousness. As long as their morale values are that or greater than mine, I could care less what they say to me, in fact I would be honored by them associating me with that of their good will related to what they are celebrating at the time.
