Goodbye Fall...Hello Winter

Post by Tombstone »

About a month and a half ago, my friend and I were out sailing. It was your typical beautiful Fall day. Winter seemed so far away....

Until this morning. :p We woke up to 1 degree F. I'm sure it dropped below 0 over night.

Winter is upon us.

A winter storm has moved in and as I type this I hear rain falling outside. The weather forcast says higher elevations may get a foot of snow this weekend. I'm wearing my long johns, turtleneck, and sweater over that. Have the heaters on too. Would be nice to have a fire in the fireplace or a woodstove.

The seasons are changing. I look forward to this at the end of August but when forced to start my car on a frosty morning, I'm thinking tropics :)

I usually look forward to the winter. Not so much this time around. Were getting dumped on tomorrow maybe that will change my outlook.

We were hit with a lot of snow. I was just outside tonight looking for my axe and some other stuff...all...of course, buried in snow!

Same forecast here. I think we're going to get hit pretty good over the weekend.

I think I'll stay home most of the weekend. :D

Ahhhh, Thanks Chris....I love your pictures. I think that we're in for a snowy and icy winter at the Jersey Shore also. It's supposed to snow and rain at the beach on Sunday. I'm looking forward to snow as long as I don't have to drive in it.:-6

I wonder will we get snow this year over here on this side of the Atlantic? I heard some of the old hands saying that the last time we had such a wet summer as 2007 (apparently not since 1947) the following winter was a very cold one.

It's starting to get awfully hot here now. You just HAVE TO go to the beach, kind of weather. Summer is a burden....
