The owner of this pic has graciously allowed me to reprint it here!

Perhaps I'll bump it up on the Fourth! :yh_flag

[image][/image]Beautiful dog!!!! Not cheeky about the flag though! Old Gory stands for religious extremism, war and hatred. Other than that, DARLING pic!!!

Popeye wrote: It also stands for independance, freedom and choice. All of which allows people to say really dumb things, like you just did. :yh_smileyI disagree that it stands for independence; Not Puerto Rico, Iraq, Afghanistan, or Occupied Palestine! It did not stand for independence in the past to Cuba, the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia or almost all of Latin America. It did not stand for freedom under the brutal dictatorships Pinochet, D'Aubisson, Zaire, Haiti. Marcos, the Saudi Royalty, the Afghan Muhajadeen or S. Korea's dictators. Or Indonesia's Sukarno. Or the generals and their dictatorships in Africa and many many other places. All the above were US financed allies. Independence? Freedom? Choice? (That will be lost to US women soon.) Just a Yank tellin it like it is!

Dave, why would you take this post, about a cute dog wrapped in our (YOUR) flag, and turn it into this rant? Just say, "Nice pic, cute doggie" and move your America-bashing to another thread. Geez. :-5

Another great freedom of the United States of America is the freedom to leave. Why are you still here? You said the flag "Stood For" all those adjectives. I just stated that the flag doesn't represent those beliefs in history. I'm here because why would a socialist revolutionary want to live anywhere but inside the Beast?? There are more than Dems & Reps here ya know! I am an American. Why would I leave?? I wish to CHANGE the view most have of Americans. I don't have to kiss the flag or salute troops fighting for the interests of a "President" I loathe. I know many wish all who aren't rightwing patriots should "Leave." But we aren't.

I'm off this one. The dog is adorable.

You might be an American, but I feel it a waste for our boys to sacrifice for the likes of you. I also don't agree with the way our government handles international relations. Especially in the current events in Iraq. But I appreciate the freedom to be able to say so with out being arrested. You hate the very thing that allows you to exist. You would not be so bousterous if it were not for the beast you so despise. You misspelled 'Lunatic.':yh_shameAnd "Boisterous."

I understand what you're saying, and I respect that, but let me assure

you this was done with every thought towards respecting and displaying

this flag! This dog's owner is a patriot, I must say.

I totally understand the intent, believe me! I think the picture is totally great. Just silly old habits dying hard on my part.

It's kind of like he's wearing an American superhero cape.
