From the elephant one:- "Does the object continue to move after it comes to rest?"

Even funnier than answer so it is.

A wee question for the person who devised that question - How can an object continue to move after it has come to rest?

The question ought to make clear its assumption that the spring's 100% efficient at storing and releasing the energy though.

Continue to move = moving AKA not at rest

at rest = not moving.

I had a math teacher in college who would grade based on creativity. If I were the teacher grading the "find X" paper that student would have received credit for their answer. I have never had to find "X" in my adult life, but I have had to be creative and fast on my feet.

It's a simple description of a moment at which every component in the system has a velocity of zero. Honestly, nothing's moving at all when the spring's as tensed as it will get.
