It is 71 degrees right now, and feeling better every minute! Record high temperatures in the northeast, it feels like spring outside! I'm going to putter in the yard this afternoon. :-6

It's 11C (52F) here again today. That's about four days in a row.
Yes, it's pleasant, but it's scary, too. The Earth is seriously malfunctioning.

What we are experiencing is the effects of the Solar Tsunami that occured this winter. http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2006/12/1 ... 1211094500
When an event like this occurs it causes the jet stream to lift to an area above where it normally flows. This occurs everytime that there has been a large anomally occurs on the sun. Over time the jet stream will drop to it's noramlly level and weather patterns will return to normal. ie Denver will not be getting hit with storm after storm and the east coast will see cold weather again.

Yes, these things do happen. It will eventually get cold again, but it made for a nice walk outside I just had.

There has to be a happy medium somewhere between Limbaugh and Gore or God save us all.

I'd nominate Nicholas Stern :
What we do now can have only a limited effect on the climate over the next 40 or 50 years, but what we do in the next 10-20 years can have a profound effect on the climate in the second half of this century... The benefits of strong, early action considerably outweigh the costs... Unabated climate change could cost the world at least 5% of GDP each year; if more dramatic predictions come to pass, the cost could be more than 20% of GDP... Each tonne of CO2 we emit causes damages worth at least $85, but emissions can be cut at a cost of less than $25 a tonne.

It has been in the 50's and low 60's here..it is usually in the teens and bitter cold. But, the "normal" weather is on it's way, I hear.
Seems Colorado may have let go of it.
