I got 2 dogs in my house. I got 3 cats in my house. We all get along just fine.
But a couple days ago I was going out to the barn and from the woodpile I heard this screaming little voice. So, of course, I started talking to it. (Aint' that what you're supposed to do when you hear little voices?)
Up pops this little head with the prettiest blue eyes. And this mouth that kept on yelling at me. I had known that our 1 barn cat had kittens a few weeks ago but she always has very small litters and they all don't make it and we can't get to them cause she hides them very well in the wood pile.
So...I go on about my business and on the way back from the barn I get screamed at again.
This also happens the next morning and this time the rest of the head came out of the wood pile and there was this cutest little kitten about 4-5 weeks old and no bigger than a minute yelling her head off at me. So I talked to her but of course she wouldn't let me touch her.
Sunday afternoon after helping clean the barn I stopped by the wood pile and out she came...and ran over to me... and let me pick her up...then yelled right in my face. I put her back and she hollered at me all the way up to the house.
Ok....you probably guessed by now.... Monday morning as she attempted to follow me up to the house I just picked her up and brought her in. She's so little and I don't think she was getting enough milk from her mom. The vet said at 4 weeks she was old enough to eat canned food or softened kitten chow.
She is now residing in a large guinea pig cage with her own little litter box and she still yells at her new mommy when she's hungry or just wants to be held which is almost all the time. Gonna take her to the vet next week and get her checked for all those awful feline things. Then when she's old enough I'll get her spayed. As small as she is I don't let her have the run of the house yet cause she would be one mouthful for one of my dogs.(not that they would hurt her intentionally) and the other 3 cats are still jealous.
Oh...by the way...her name is Muggin.
I gotta stop this. But what can you do when they steal your heart.
