Microsoft Virtual PC 2004?

Post by Casey Morgan »

Has anybody tried MVPC 2004? I've got this running at work and at home, and WOW! Heh, this is better than running programs in Emulation mode in XP. I was reading FG last night in IE5 running under Win98SE, but on a laptop running XP Home.

It's free (since April?) but you have to have a valid license for the OS you want to emulate. You actually have to have either the CD/floppies or ISO, and the product key. This is also great if you want to get some practice installing OSes. If you mess up you just delete the machine and delete the hard drive. Try THAT in real life. :wah:

It's not supported under XP Home but I haven't had a problem yet. As always though YMMV. Windows Explorer is showing the installation zip file as being 18,612KB. real sweet if you've got broadband, and at least doable if you've got dialup.

So if anybody's tried this, what do you think?
