oh, the other thing. i believe the terms of service talk about 'misrepresenting oneself'. but that's along the lines of someone doing so to attempt to defraud people. there's nothing bannable here. you made a misteak(tm). life happens.

feeling ashamed over it is normal, and appropriate. you did a bad thing. those who commit wrongs but feel no shame are the ones to be wary of.

Jives is to be embraced for accepting his shame. Shame dies when it's embraced.

so here's a bear hug for you, man.
I used to work with a guy who actually DID claim to be the long lost twin brother of Elvis The Pelvis. Went by the name of Enis as I recall

I invented those little stickers you find on your apples and bananas. It was pretty hard work finding something that if you accidentally ingested it, didn't bog-up your insides, but I perservered none-the-less. Not only did i invent them, to do this very day, I travel the world sticking those lil suckers on.

Jives!! That is very fine !!!! And I'm so glad you came in and said what you did. I have always liked your writing, and enjoyed the very individual flavour you bring personally to this forum. Without you, we were diminished as a group. I was very upset about what happened. None of us are perfect (well maybe I am pretty close!) - we all have a few human flaws. To be able to admit that - as several others of us have done lately too - shows great courage and real strength. I am very happy you're back. I guess we'll all hafta hang around this thread a bit, till everyone's seen it and responded.. grin... but then.. the past is the past. Let's leave it behind and move on!!!! Why can I never find the hug smiley when I want it.... ahhh:yh_hugs

Someone spoke of catharsis to me in another place. Refining by fire and it stuck in my mind at the time. It was a noble concept in old Greek drama. Now how to get that into a limerick which also contains pectoral muscles... Mmmmmm... gonna be a toughie.

When I saw that word, Jives, .. grin.. I knew!!! It had to be yooooooooouuuuuuu, it had to be youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu... (someone turns the hose on pam and she shuts up long enough to gargle a bit) I'm up to my um drop dead gorgeous girl-type pex in work today, so am only just peeking in the forums - but am feeling inordinately cheery now (even at the sight of Far's boobs - grin). And will no doubt burst into rhyme again before too long. Ciao!!

Welcome back Jives it is good to see you again. Everything that everyone has put in here, (well apart from man-boobs??) I agree with 100%. We all make mistakes, and tell lies, but it is as AC says it's how you bounce back from that and take the responsibility to own up for your mistakes that shows what kind of a person you are, and you showed true courage to not run away, but own up to that, so congratulations my friend!!!

By the way everybody. I spent a good deal of time reading the thread last night. (I had never read it before save for the first few pages.) When I saw what was happening in the begiining pages, I couldn't bring myself to read the rest until now.

If I had known, even for a second, the kind of flak poor Far and many others took for me, you can bet I would've done this a whole lot sooner.

I can't believe what I read. It was absolutely amazing. :-2 It made me very very sad at what I had done, and it made me very very happy to know that there are people around like you guys.

You are the best.

I know I am not the most popular person around here (the whole kill the messenger thing). But, credit to Jives for telling the truth and not running away. Like I said, seems like apretty forgiving bunch and Jives is a pretty popular cat (I found that out when I first came here). What's more, Far Rider came up HUGE in Jive's absensce. He was positively unflappable. Even came over to the Ginblossoms.net forum to defend Jives. A good friend, no doubt. Anyhoo, welcome back!

I lived next door to the band, (across the street when they lived on 13th or was it 14th street.) I hung out at the house quite often, went to all their parties, saw them at work when I was working at Long Wongs, and even once or twice they let me play an instrument while at their house, but I was never in the band. Unfortunately, I have shamed and disgraced myself here forever.

Worse yet, I think I may have broken the Terms of Service, so I fully expect to be banned for this admission. That would only be right and my own consequence.

So there it all is...I'm am bitterly sorry for what I have done, and there is nothing I can do to change what has happened or regain my credibilty. I hang out at the new site now, under a different name, and I am going to try to restart the friendships that my unforgivable behavior has cost me.

My eternal gratitude to all who supported me and stood by me, however misguided you were, you still proved to be decent people.

As for me,

I am a liar, it is true...

But at least now,

I am not a coward anymore.

If my head is up my ass, then so be it. Naieve? Uninformed, maybe, maybe not. I just like to give folks the benefit of the doubt.

I happen to like the guy..if he says things I like I will say so. If he says things to hurt me, or others, I will tell him so also.

Much if what seemed to have happened, occured before my arrival here. I am chosing to not go there, as I did not actually observe the behaviors in question.

This is a forum for all. It is not the end of my world if people here are bothered by who I choose to befriend. And I will not make my choices based on who others tell me I should like or dislike.

I have sat by here, for the last several months rather passively, being "the nice one".

I know many will probably start to think differently of me now, and for that I feel bad....but I think I would dislike myself even more if I just sat back and did not say what was on my mind.
