Everybody keeps talking about global warming creating all our super hurricanes. I have a theory that Americans are so much fatter than everybody else, we've knocked the earth's rotation all wobbly, which is churning the oceans. What do you think? :yh_glasse

No problem. I wouldn't call it free love, but whatever you want to call it is ok by me :)

I had not been in an open relationship before no. I was shown the way. I'd always been strongly against marriage, for the reasons I briefly spoke of earlier in the thread. Most little girls dream about their wedding day, I used to dream about travelling the world.

I met someone who was into open relationships, and he raised it with me very early into our dating life. I was a little sceptical, but thought hell, why not give it a shot. I'm by nature a very open and experimental person. I'm curious about just about everything, so it would have been hard work for me to not explore the idea or to resist peaking inside that world. So... I did.

The common misconception is that people in open marriages/relationships just go out and sleep around willy nilly. Now I'm sure some do, and good for them. For me and my hubby it's a little different to that. We have certain rules and certain things we do to make it work (eg. noone the other person knows, not in our home, and there's a couple more but I don't want to bore you all) ... where was I.... oh. ok. So yeah, we have rules. We don't go to orgies and we're not into free love and sleeping with someone new every other day. In my entire time in this relationship and now marriage, I've exercised the priviledge three times (in 6 years) and I'd be guessing at my husbands adventures. It's also a misconception that our sex life must be crap but... it isn't. :wah:

For me, those three times, one was a one nighter (and he was coincidentally my first time exercising the priviledge), the other two people, were significantly longer. None continue to this day, and the last ended about 6 months ago. :)

Does that help at all in explaining it?

Oh, I'd also like to say, it's definitely not about testing our committment to each other :) and nope, I don't mind being asked. For one this is an ask me anything thread, for another, I opened the can of worms, I'd be a bit of an arse to slam it shut the minute curiosity was expressed. :wah: I'm pretty much an open book.

Welcome Amie I have learned more reading this thread than I have in a good many years, your honesty is refreshing. :-6

Can you convert this into inches and pound, we don't do this metric thing here is the states..!! :wah:

[QUOTE]To be totally honest I have no idea what my measurements are. I'm 168cms tall and I weigh 49kgs if that helps?

I see you have met the boys Far, Acc, Nomadness, and Wolfie they will keep you entertained for hours. There are a few more to be aware of Clancy and Uncle Kram come to mind, also dear sweet Clipper. I'm sure you will meet everyone in time.

I love Figi spent some time there myself while visiting friends in New Zealand beautiful part of the world..

WELCOME..!! ;)

It was kinda fun. Most of you seem really nice. Best of luck! Enjoy your worlds, and remember... not every open marriage is about orgies and swinging. :wah:
