Go Metric Ireland

Today is Go Metric Day in Ireland, when our road speed signs switch from miles per hour to Kilometres per hour. Another EU challange for us.

Having never been to Ireland I just assumed they wee already on the metric system. New Zealand switched to metric back in the 60's some time and went from Pounds Sterling etc. to the Dollar. I still forget sometimes when I am driving, that 100 k is only 60mph.

Makes more sense, we kept the miles so now I buy petrol by the litre and work out miles per gallon.
